This used to be a beach so it's full of shells, which is why they call it Shellfield.
First-Hand Experience: More info about my personal experience at this stadium - I love the town of Berwick and have been here 4 or 5 times. It's right on the drive from Edinburgh to Newcastle. This is the only stadium in England that is home to a team that plays in the Scottish league.
It's a nice little windswept stadium near the coast. I was here for the first time in 2001, and saw a game here for the first time in 2014. I absolutely loved it. I will put a couple of pictures up from here once I get my scanner working.
The big factory next to it, you don't notice during the game, but I deleted a star for it.
So when I was doing my first tour of Scotland in 2011, I also hit up every single stadium in the country. My obsession with footy (soccer to Americans) is the reason. Every stadium review - like all my reviews - are based on first-hand personal experience, usually from multiple visits. As recently as Fall 2014, when I was "stuck" in UK for 3 months, I went to most of them yet again while travelling. I have pictures of me at many of them, which I will post later. Also, when back in Scotland I plan to take more pix, and add more stadia! So watch this space!

Seriously though, it's got a big factory right next to it! So much bigger than the stadium! It's one of the worst stadiums you'll ever see, but that sort of gives it its charm. It's near the ocean so it's absolutely freezing. It's the only Scottish League stadium that's actually located in England.
In 1967, Berwick somehow beat Rangers here, 1-0.
The club's supporters own the stadium which is adorable. For that reason I have to bump it up to 3 stars even though it's a tiny awful stadium next to a factory. read more
