I think our drivers name was Alex if I remember correctly. He was so awesome, swooped us from our hotel and took us wherever we needed to go in south beach. Played great music and made the drive so fun! We came back to California and never forgot it!

Why would we all the cool stuff is here already and we don't need to pay for parking, walk most of the time or we could take a cheap cab ride or we can SWOOP !!! Swoop is a slightly pimped up electric golf cart that you can call to pick you up from any bar or night club on the beach and they will take you to the next bar or restaurant or even drop you off at your apartment building or hotel. They will also take you on late night Pizza runs too. The best part is that the price is FREE !! The only ask for tips and semi decent behavior while riding in the car. FREE rides from noon to 2 am from 1st street to 26th street and Ocean Drive to the bay but I have them out later on weekends. It seats 5-6 comfortably and be prepared to wait awhile on a busy night but still so much more fun that a DUI. Last time I was on there, I has a guy with a big ass snake riding in the front seat while my friend was yelling " SWOOP SWOOP SWOOP " and we hit Dewey's, Ted's and 8 Ounce all in one night for only $5 to the driver. We called from each place when we were done and SWOOP appeared. So go ahead and put that number in your cell now because even you come from the mainland you can park your one place and have SWOOP drive you around in open golf cart style for the night.

I've waited 6 months to write this review, mainly because I do not like to write negative reviews…read more But I feel compelled to write it because it started our vacation off in a very stressful manner. I wanted to hire a service to pick us up from the airport because we had never been to Fort Lauderdale and were not familiar with the area. We landed and after getting our luggage, I immediately contacted the driver. Only then was I told that our driver would not be meeting us in the baggage claim area, which is what I specifically requested. Looking back at our emails, I missed where the pickup was pointed out in the email, it's my fault that I didn't understand we would not be met in the baggage claim area, so that's on me. But I should have addressed it before our trip. I spoke with the driver, who had a very heavy accent and I had a lot of difficulty understanding him, which he sounded very annoyed about. He told us he could not pick us up in front of the arrival area and we had to go to the right at the end of the terminal. All we saw at the end of the terminal was an unlit area. This is exactly what I wanted to avoid. The pickup area had very little light. But we proceeded forward, picked a spot and I called the driver again. When he showed up and saw my mobility scooter, it seemed to make him very mad. I had specifically requested a van, just to accommodate our luggage and my scooter, and I had communicated to Jiffy Jeff I had a scooter. He was very rude and irritated and kept saying it was not going to fit (keep in mind, it was a VAN). It took me several minutes to explain that we could take the scooter apart to get it in the van. Finally, after I started disassembling my scooter, and he begrudgingly help load the parts in the van. As two women, I did not like getting into a van with a man who was visibly angry, but we did. My sister and I were very uncomfortable. On the drive, I tried asking him questions about the area, for example, "is that downtown Fort Lauderdale?" And he said "That's not where we're going." I said, "I understand, but I just want to know if that is downtown." Again he snapped at me saying "that's not where we're going." We spent $160 (including the $30 tip we we begrudgingly gave him) to go from Fort Lauderdale Airport to the Hilton by the cruise port, which is 4 miles and about a 15 minute drive. It was NOT worth it. Needless to say, I will NOT be using this company again and will just take an Uber XL.

In March 2026, after my flight had landed at Miami International Airport, I requested an Uber ride through my phone app. Unfortunately, the driver drove to another part of the airport, despite my standing at the correct spot, messaging him the name of a nearby sign, and his seeing my blue dot on his screen. Eventually, he found me. The ride took 28 minutes, and it cost $33 plus a tip. The driver did make courteous conversation, drive safely, and did not give me a low rating.

We used Uber primarily for a few reasons: 1. My wife gets $15/month + $20 extra in December in Uber credits as the primary on an American Express Platinum Card. 2. She's an Uber One member (full $120 membership cost credited by Amex). 3. We both earn Delta SkyMiles by riding with Uber. I ended up calling multiple Ubers despite not having the first two benefits listed above. Prices were reasonable with trips ranging from $16.93 to $30.95 after tip. I noticed coming from the airport, I was charged $0.66 for the "Dolphin Expressway SR836 - 17th Ave. Eastbound" (standard SunPass rate) and a $2.00 "MIA Airport Surcharge."
