The place is very big and very open. Lots of paint options. Staff are helpful to answer questions I have.

I walked in and out pop a lone employee for the back. He was very friendly. I'm not a handy person. I usually paint my foot or my face when attempting to do some home renovations, but I needed to paint over the hole I patched up. Luckily for me, I had the paint code from the paint contractors on my phone. I showed my phone to the morning manager. He was very helpful with questions. Clearly, he know I was a total geek not being handy. My paint was mixed by the computer and shaken. I was in and out in 10 minutes. During the late morning and afternoon, you can expect more traffic and busier times. Contractors are offered coffee while they wait. Sometimes, they have a appreciation lunch for long time one customers and maybe the few non handymen out there.

(okay, it's covered) Three different paints and colours were sprayed onto our bare cement retaining wall. Counter guy explained about primer - and he tinted the primer so it blends with the bare cement tone. (we had done the power wash!) Set me up with the correct fluffy roller sleeve, and paint tray liner. I've just finished covering the graffiti and it looks fabulous. Staff here really know their product. I've purchased paint here in the past, but this time I needed specialty stuff, and they provided top product and advice. Now we will paint colourful flowers on the cement. Take that, taggers! As I arrived to the shop on a Saturday afternoon, it was busy, 4 staffs with about 6-8 set of customers, but staffs are very attentive, would come to me even when they have customers who are thinking. Staffs are very helpful when I have questions about using paint the first time, short and sweet tips. Staffs also make sure I have tools to use the paints, can openers and stirring sticks, but not pushy about other products, My 2 custom paints were made within 15 minutes, very efficient! The biggest fear was picking the "right" colors. There are just too many colors to choose from. Also, most people, like me, do not know how different colors work (intuitively or theoretically). So, I just didn't know where to begin! That said, I walked in here without knowing ANYTHING (other than wanting to repaint the exterior). Casey was amazing. She listened to me carefully (although I was not very much of help as I didn't know what I wanted myself). She picked out a couple of brochures and directed me to this very useful binder "Color Inspiration and Ideas," which shows you common color combinations (see my photos). They have a very spacious showroom. I just sat there and went through the binder, picking out combinations I liked and excluding ones I didn't like. While I was studying the binder, she checked on me a couple times but she gave me the "space" I needed. She also directed me to the Benjamin Moore website to try out the color combinations I liked online. This is an amazing tool. You can upload a picture of your house and try out different colors on your house (and it's free)! After trying out many different combinations of colors online, I came in here again to look at the colors I liked. I was able to pick up some paint swatches to bring home. The lady who helped me was very pleasant and was able to find the colors I wanted quickly. I'd thought I would need Photoshop to "virtually" paint my house to see how it would look, but, thanks to Casey, I was able to do it for free on the Benjamin Moore webpage ("Personal Color Viewer"). They have many items here that my friend I see annually at the Circle Craft fair at the Convention Center downtown. So I know these items are artisan-made (not mass produced).
