I had the old cans (one was from 11 years ago) and brought them into Helm since that's who my painter had used. They took a quick look (rusty cans were not a deterrent) and said on you need X and Y. And with 15 minutes my colors were mixed and I was checked out and ready to go. Yes, the paint is pricey. 2 cans (one interior semi-gloss and one exterior) set me back $100 BUT the paint lasts. If I wasn't replacing doors, I probably still wouldn't have needed to repaint that back door. Staff was lovely and on it. Plus beaucoup parking out front. They even offered to carry my paint to the car, but I need to practice my Travolta from Saturday Night Fever walk.

It is my opinion that there are very few people who would argue the "fact" that Sherwin-Williams'…read moreline of paints are top notch. In September 2017, I had 22 new windows installed in my home. Since my home is over 50 years old, the interior window sills and exterior window frames did not get replaced. Therefore, in anticipation of my new windows, I decided to sand, scrape and prime my exterior window frames prior to the installation of the new windows. That way, once the installation was complete, all I had to do was apply a topcoat (or 2) of paint. But I digress. My 1st trip to Sherwin-Williams was only to buy a new window scraper, sanding "discs" for my palm sander, bleached tack cloths and an oil based exterior primer. There's really not much to talk bout regarding the scraper or the sandpaper, but I cannot rave on how effective Sherwin-Williams bleached tack cloths were in removing dust, even after I thoroughly used a dust brush to clean the freshly sanded window frames. They were a cheap investment that, in my opinion, truly prepared the frames for priming. I started out using their Exterior Oil-Based Wood Primer ($54.99/Gal), but even though it's their top rated exterior oil primer, the long drying time was a turn-off to me. Therefore, I immediately switched to their A-100 Exterior Fast Dry Stain Blocking Alkyd Wood Primer ($41.29). Not only was this primer less expensive, it brushed on easily with no thinning required and I was able to apply a second coat in as little as 2 hours. (This was especially important as every window got 2 coats of primer.) For my top coat (2nd trip to Sherwin Williams), I picked up one gallon of Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel ($89.49/Gal). This paint is not cheap, but it's worth every penny. First of all, it's water based and cleans up easily. It's also an interior / exterior paint; therefore, I plan to use it for my interior trim as well. This premium paint (urethane enamel) has excellent coverage and leaves minimal to no brush marks, especially if you are using a quality brush such as a Wooster or a Purdy (in which Sherwin Williams stocks the latter). No Flo-trol is needed to make this urethane enamel flow any smoother than it already does. Again, I used a tack cloth between the primer coat and finish coat to remove any dust, bugs or other foreign debris to ensure I got a smooth finish. I've been to this Sherwin-Williams a few additional times and on every single visit, I was greeted by a courteous and knowledgeable salesperson. Store Manager Bryant Lopez has definitely instilled a prideful workforce, as is evident by their excellent customer service.

We ran out of the paint that has been stored so I was told to go to this particular Sherwin-Williams because our information was on file. When I walked in the building, it was EMPTY. On a…read moreSaturday of February 28, I visited The Green Project, a salvage store facility in New Orleans where all items are donated. I've been a customer for over 5-years and have made many donations as well as many purchases. I intended to buy a pallet of flooring; I gave my credit card to the cashier to pay for the flooring; I made a hasty decision because I was leaving town in a few days, then I changed my mind. On Sunday, the following day the stored was closed, I made contact with one of the stores workers by the name of Jerome. I told him I decided not to buy the flooring and requested my credit card be credited back to me for the $1980. On Monday I called and asked if I needed to bring my card to the store for the 1980 refund. I spoke to the Manager by the name of Jasmine; she informed me that they don't give refunds. Of course, I thought that was ridicules because I hadn't even removed anything from the store and proceeded to call the credit card company and file a claim for the $1980 to be refunded. Credit One gave me a temporary refund, I left town a few days later, when I returned, I still didn't think there was a problem until May 6, 2026, the day my bank reversed the credit claim, and I owed my creditor $1980. Since then, I've made attempt after another trying to recover those funds and I have not been successful. At this time my credit account is past due, and I refuse to pay for something I did not receive. The Green project sold the flooring to someone else. The manager Jasmine told my creditor that I had picked up the flooring and also told them there was a large, posted sign stating, "no refund policy", but this is not true, there was no sign at all posted. The Green Project knows very well I did not pick up the flooring, and they should've simply refunded my card. Basically, this is theft.
