Most importantly, Hallman Lindsay paint is about the best available paint in WI. Just ask any upscale, professional painters: they will tell you to use Hallman Lindsay paint.

Previous review (8/2020) Compared to the Home Depot south of here, this place is tiny. But well packed. And has mostly everything you need. The best part about this place, as tiny and crowded as it is, are the people. The people working here are always so nice! And attentive! I've never been in here and not had someone ask, "Can I help you find anything?" Sometimes more than once if you're perusing. And the questions are never annoyed, but friendly, like they really want to help. They also fix screens (and sell everything you need to fix it yourself if you're in the mood for it). While they quoted us about a week for it to get done, it was actually done in one day. It's a franchise, but it feels like a neighborhood store. Love it.

Poor customer service and poor quality, overpriced paint…read more I am repainting a new house, so I have been here several times with questions about paint and to sample and purchase some paint. During every visit, I have had to try and get help from an associate as they seem to either all be sitting in the back break area, or they don't volunteer to help. Each visit has left me with different answers from different associates. Foolishly, I ultimately purchased two gallons of their top of the line Emerald paint and was very disappointed not only with the poor and uneven coverage (after two coats on a clean, lightly textured, new drywall surface), but also with the color. I was told by an associate that I could not return the paint, but that they would replace it with a different color; when I went in with my unopened and unused gallon of paint to exchange for another color, the associates in the store said they don't do any such thing. Save yourself the trouble and try Ace Hardware instead. Their customer service is far superior, they have knowledgeable and helpful staff, and they have much better quality paints at a better price.

I was on my way back from the Chicago Western Suburbs, driving back to Milwaukee after visiting my dying father in a hospital. I had to take a call from a close out of town out of the country relative and it was too cold standing outside to talk to I ducked into the nearest store, this one. There was no one else in the store, and the sales guy came up to see if I needed help but then overheard enough that he politely and discreetly turned around and surreptitiously went about his business. When I finished the phone call he recognized I didn't actually want any paint and left me be even though I didn't leave. I can't explain why but I was staring at some cans of paint, and later it registered on me that they have a pretty good stock, and of course Benjamin Moore is a high quality paint. I think one of the foundations of good customer service is reading customers and figuring out what we need. I'll tell you when I do need paint, I'm coming back here even though it's 45 minutes from where I live. It's next to an excellent Thai restaurant. One more plus, the owner supports the Northwestern Wildcats.
