Dr. Huang is a fine surgeon, but his front office is overwhelmed, slow, and has a problem with follow-through.

**Yelp Review for San Jose Neurospine**…read more I can't say enough good things about my experience at San Jose Neurospine! From the very beginning, I was met with exceptional support and guidance from Brandy. She answered every question I had and provided clear, concise details about the entire process. Her patience and thoroughness made a potentially overwhelming situation feel manageable and reassuring. When I met Dr. O, I immediately felt confident in his expertise. He has a no-nonsense approach, which I appreciated, but what impressed me most was his commitment to ensuring there were no underlying issues causing my pain. Instead of rushing into surgery, he took the time to explore all avenues, which spoke volumes about his professionalism and care for his patients. As I went through the process of getting X-rays, epidurals, and cortisone shots, I kept hearing about Dr. O's excellent reputation which was additionally reassuring. The surgery itself went incredibly well, and my recovery has exceeded all my expectations. I am now pain-free and back to my normal activities. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. O (Onibokun) especially if you're considering a minimally invasive microdiscectomy. His skill and dedication are truly exceptional! THANK YOU DR O!!!

Update to my previous review: After posting my initial…read moreconcerns, I want to give credit where it's due. Dr. Onibokun and his team reached out and arranged an in-person follow-up appointment to address everything I had questions about. They were patient, thorough, and took the time to go through my imaging and treatment options in detail. All of my questions and concerns were addressed -- something I had felt was missing from the initial phone consultation. The willingness to follow up and ensure I felt heard as a patient made a meaningful difference. Chronic pain is a complex journey and finding a physician who is willing to engage thoughtfully and take concerns seriously matters enormously. I appreciate the effort the clinic made to make that happen. Updating my rating to reflect this experience.

I have been trying for (literally) years to get my prescription correct. Every refill is messed up. I continually have to call and call again the office to fix this. I've talked to the office manager, been assured things will get fixed. That specific prescription is fixed, but the next time around I am back in the circus. He has worked closely on my case and stays in consistent communication. Outside of the normal things that come with scheduling with a doctor, they have always made time for me. I feel seen, heard, safe, and hopeful. I owe my life to Dr. S. I couldn't recommend a better neurologist.

From Dizzy to (Mostly) Functional -- Thanks, NorCal Brain!…read more After an injury left my balance and focus feeling like a Jenga tower during a minor earthquake, I came to NorCal Brain Center hoping for help. What I got was part science experiment, part carnival ride -- and somehow, it worked. They spun me, shook me, tilted me, flashed lights at me, and had me chase dots around like a cat with a laser pointer full of fresh batteries and catnip. I half-expected someone to hand me a treat at the end for good behavior. But instead, I got something even better -- results. The team here is incredible: professional, patient, and genuinely passionate about what they do. They somehow manage to make complex neuro rehab both fascinating and fun -- even when you're wearing strange goggles and trying not to fall off a balance board. What surprised me most was how quickly I started to improve. My dizziness, focus, and coordination all made noticeable progress in just a short time. These folks know their stuff, and they care deeply about getting people back to feeling human again. If your brain's been through the spin cycle and you want it recalibrated by people who actually get it -- this is the place. Five stars, two steady feet, and one happily retrained nervous system.

I'm not usually someone who leaves reviews, but after such a healing and supportive experience, I felt it was important to share. I came in extremely anxious, dealing with major dizziness and vertigo. From my first visit, I felt comfortable, validated, and truly cared for. Everything, from the clean, calming space and kind, empathetic staff to the serene location, was thoughtfully designed for patient comfort. The Space The environment feels almost like a spa: quiet, not overstimulating, and perfect for someone sensitive to light and sound. After appointments, I could relax in their red light therapy room with two comfortable beds, so calming I often felt ready to fall asleep. They have a few plants, water stations that hydrogenate your water, and covered lights to soften harsh fluorescent glare. Their equipment is modern and well-maintained. The Location NorCal Brain Center is located in a quiet, tree-covered business plaza (not a busy retail strip), which keeps things peaceful both outside and in. They have a main suite and an adjacent one offering PEMF and oxygen tank therapy, which I found a great addition to my healing plan. The Staff & Care Over the phone, by email, and in person, the staff have always been warm and accommodating. Dr. Minh is one of the most empathetic, knowledgeable, and well-spoken doctors I've ever met. I never felt doubted or dismissed about my symptoms. I especially want to mention Ayessa (receptionist), Marissa (formerly there, now expanding her knowledge through further education), and Santiago (still there!), each of them played a huge role in my healing journey with compassion, understanding, and professionalism. Treatment & Testing Dr. Minh and his team offer various tests; I did the DUTCH and OAT tests, which were incredibly insightful. I'm not sure if they offer bloodwork, best to ask, but I highly recommend their approach. Unlike my primary care visits, where I was only offered prescription Dramamine (which eventually stopped working), NorCal Brain Center created a personalized plan with targeted supplements that made a real difference for me. They also offer chiropractic services but start with the least invasive methods. Pricing & Scheduling The treatments are on the pricier side, but for me, they were worth every penny. They combined one-on-one therapy with PEMF therapy and saw major improvements. They allow split payments, so you don't need to pay the full treatment plan upfront. I paid per visit. They do have a late cancellation fee (less than 24 hours), so if you're not feeling well, especially with migraines, call a day ahead to reschedule and they'll gladly help. Final Thoughts Overall, this place felt like a Michelin-star restaurant in medical form--from the aesthetics and hospitality to the thorough explanations, validation, and advanced equipment. I'm deeply grateful for the care and hope NorCal Brain Center provided me. If you're feeling hopeless in your health journey, this may be the place that changes everything.

She didn't even try to properly diagnose them and just ordered an X-ray. Their directions for X-rays were totally inaccurate. It wasted my time. When I called them back, the front desk person was not helpful, and it wasn't easy to get in touch with them. Finally, I got the X-ray done. I made another appointment with them. I waited over a month before I got to see the doctor again. This time was with the husband. He just looked at the X-ray quickly and recommended PHP. He didn't diagnose my knees either. Somehow, I went ahead with the PHP that day. He said it's not covered by insurance and it costs $900, which I paid right there. The PHP worked for a month or so, but it wore off quickly. And they also claimed my insurance, which I questioned with no definite answer from them. I called and emailed their admin who takes care of billing, but they were silent and cricket. It was a total waste of my time and money. Please stay away from them. Recently, I met a doctor friend who used to know this couple. He didn't recommend them. I wished I knew before and had gone to Stanford instead.

The whole entire appointment itself took less than 10 minutes majorly discussing about insurance coverage for the MRI that I requested to take since his wife informed that if there is no pain in the ankle that I had due to a previous fracture injury then there's nothing much to do. She didn't even think about observing it but with her two eyes and told me not to worry since it's from previous damaged tissues around the ligaments which I can even observe that myself. Despite filling out the online pre check in form you still have to fill out multiple papers of new patient forms; really disappointed with her bedside manner nonetheless the professionalism from her. I requested to see a doctor who can listen to my concerns NOT the billing department. Cancelled the whole entire MRI and seeking for a new orthopedic doctor. Good luck.

I couldn't stand long enough to cook a meal. Dr. Gussous looked at my MRI and CT scans and projected great confidence that a surgery would help me and I just decided to put myself in his hands. Best decision ever. Three months out and I can walk indefinitely with no discomfort. Just after the surgery, when I was recovering in the hospital, I was having some issues with my blood pressure dropping precipitously whenever I stood up. Dr. Gussous came personally to my bedside and spent about 40 minutes observing what was happening, having me stand and sit, having me walk a short distance in the hallway until he was satisfied that he understood what was going on. An amazing level of personal attention. Even the nurses were surprised. He also arranged for a week in acute rehab where I got a ton of support and instruction to see me through the rest of the recovery at home. I have done a lot of research about this procedure, including lurking around on Facebook groups where people share information about their experiences with this type of surgery. So I know that not everyone has as wonderful an outcome as I have had. I can only feel thankful to Dr. Gussous for performing an excellent surgery on me.
