Sue also writes down everything she did while she was there at my house, i.e. she doesn't just dip the litter box---if it smells, she empties and cleans it! She sweeps up the litter, and wipes out the sink at every visit. When I get home from my trips, I always find a happy cat and my house in very clean condition. I have used A Bow Meow Affair for over a year now for approximately 5 different trips. I can't say enough good things about Sue Brooks and this company.

We need to UPDATE their rating…read more All the positive reviews are mainly for Dr Robert (Bob) Marrazzo and his daughter DVM Kimberly Marrazzo. Neither one of them are at the clinic any longer. Bob has retired and Kimberly is (permanently?) home for family reasons. At the helm are other (new) doctors. When one consults the website, you can only see the picture of 4 team members out of the 12 listed. On a recent visit my cats were treated by a DVM whose name, picture and bio were not even published on the website. I prefer to know who will treat my felines beforehand. UPDATE needed. When my set appointment was reminded by a text message it stipulated to arrive 15 minutes early to the set appointment time and to bring recent stool samples for both cats. On the day/time of the visit, receptionist was surprised to see us showing up 15 minutes early. This was apparently not necessary. Phone message needs UPDATE. In the Dr's office I was told that bringing in the feces was for sick cats only not for yearly exams. Phone message needs UPDATE. The timing for yearly visits is 30 consecutive minutes per cat. Both cats were seen in less than 30 minutes. I definitely felt that the exams were rushed. Not comfortable. When looking at the worksheet/invoice for both cats, I discovered that one cat was 12 lbs 3 ozs and the second one's weight was miraculously 0 lbs 0 ozs. This happens when you rush. It does not inspire confidence at all. After the exam I was given an information sheet listing some products that could safely be administered to the cats to treat their conditions. When trying to order these I learned that most of the products were no longer available. UPDATE needed. Inquiring on how prescriptions can be filled with online pharmacies, I was told that the online pharmacy needed to contact the vet's office directly and the prescription would be fulfilled over the phone/fax or email. On such a recent trial the office informed me they no longer provide that service and that the Rx would be mailed to me so I would need to contact the pharmacy myself. Really? This was my first visit to the Cat Hospital at Palm Harbor. Needless to say that will also be my last. The whole procedure from making the appointment to ordering medications was a total failure. I lost confidence in their setup, professionalism and knowledge.

They truly love animals and you can easily tell it as soon as you walk through the door. Let's start with the front staff: they always have a smile for us and know each of our four dogs and cat by name. They notice anything that's different from their normal behavior to the point I rarely have to even tell them if somethings wrong. The behind the scenes guys are always very friendly and efficient while never being abrupt or seeming to hurry. "Uncle" Ken makes a point to come and visit with our pups even if they're not on his rotation list for that visit. We use Dr Wood predominantly and I have to say that she has more knowledge than any vet I've ever met. She is a superb diagnostician and walks you through all options with an honest recommendation that has nothing to do with price, but what is best for first your fur baby and then for you and your wallet. The most important (at least IMHO) is that all of our animals love to go see them and never ball at going in. In fact they usually drag us through the door. That is unusual in my experience. We love them so much that even though we moved to the other side of the city we still make the trip there, passing by at least a dozen other vets on the way. If you're looking for more than a vet and want people that truly care about and love your babies then this is the place for you. I almost forgot something that was/is very important to us. We've lost/had to put to sleep 3 babies in our time with them. We always received a lovely condolences card. One of the babies died suddenly on a Sunday when they were closed and we had to take him to the emergency clinic. The next week we received a condolences card from them for him and we hadn't even had the chance to let them know that he was gone to the Rainbow Road. To this day I don't know how they knew but they did and it made a huge impact on us.

This is in huge contrast to a multianimal vet clinic, if you want a neglected and dead pet go to those. Now this place! All Cats Hospital is on the top of my list for kitty care. I've seen two of the vets who have, at separate times, taken care of our three cats, and both vets were highly knowledgeable and explained absolutely everything. They also explained different treatment options from the most cost effective to the most expensive in a logical progression to figure out what was happening with our 20 year old cat. And they took the time to read the entire medical history of said 20 year old cat, he's got an extensive medical record. It wasn't just a glance, and I could tell because of the conversations we had on possible treatments. As for the two younger cats, 10 years and 5 months old, they avoided making generalities, and helped guide the weight loss of the 10 year old meatball, and healthy growing for the 5 month old. We absolutely love this place, and will continue to bring out kitties here, it is worth the drive.

At drop off, I told Ted my budget was $400 for the annual exam and he quoted me $460, so i agreed. New price at pickup was $550 "oh, i thought you knew...". When i reminded him of our convo earlier, he said my cat had fleas "combed her myself, she's covered in fleas" and that would be another $60 for flea meds to take home. I paid for it, what else could i do? I don't want fleas but, took her to another vet and there were no fleas on my exclusive indoor cat. Dr Faber is still the best vet you can find for kitties but, better get your charges in writing and ask for proof if more expenses come up. One more thought. This vet is expensive but, she also has saved me tons of money by not misdiagnosing and sending me to emergency vets for imagined problems. She's really the best vet in the area for cats.
