Nice size and cheese
Charles T.

There are plenty of places to get a cheesesteak in the Poconos, but there are not plenty of places worth mentioning to get a cheesesteak in the Poconos. After receiving a good dozen or so suggestions to try out Sherry's Place, I simply had to make my way out there and grab a sandwich. DO NOT be deterred by it being a trailer in a parking lot. It doesn't matter, I promise you this. I will get the negative portion out of the way immediately. I do feel like this could have been on a better roll (this roll wasn't even that bad), and I do wish that Cooper Sharp was an option for cheese. That's it. The negative is over. The meat was flavored well and had a great meat to cheese ratio. The people working the truck were very friendly and the cost of the sandwich was around $10 which is right about what i'd expect. There is only one cheesesteak in the Pocono area that I can think of immediately off the top of my head that I believe is better, and even then you could chalk it up to preference. This is a solid sandwich and this place is worth a try.

Yup, that's it.

It may sound like an indistinct place and look only like a trailer in a parking lot but it's EXACTLY that and SO much more. If you want to get one of the best cheesesteaks you've ever had, head on over. You'll not only have an amazing sandwich, you'll meet some of the nicest people in PA as well (Sherry and her husband Casey). Check out the true "Home of the Great Pocono Cheesesteak!" Last time I went it was raining and Sherry was kind enough to bring it directly to my car for me. These are the local treats of the Poconos that you're not going to find easily, but when you do.... mmm is it worth it.

Im and doing my review off of the cheesesteak and the customer service which was amazing. Unfortunately my cheesefries were soggy and my onion rings were decent. But the portions of my cheesesteak were good and the meat and toppong were definitely in an abundance. I definitely recommend this place when it comes to cheesesteaks. I definitely will be coming back!

Usually when we check on YELP we are always suspicious of highly rated reviews if none of them have been done by YELP Elites. So I was a little concerned about this place that didn't have any Elite reviews....well that has changed as of today! Sherry's Place is a local take out spot run out of an old trailer in Pocono Mountain area. Serving a variety fast foods such as burgers and dogs its a local no frills joint for the masses at cheap prices. However their most popular items are their outstanding cheese steak sandwiches. We've had the ones in Philadelphia from the 2 big boys of Pat's and Geno's, but these cheese steaks might just be up there if not surpasses them! Basically you choose either beef or chicken and your choice of toppings. Unlike the traditional Philadelphia cheese steaks where they slather the cheese on top of the steak, here at Sherry's they cook the cheese into the steak along with whatever topping you want. We choose their most popular option of beef with onions and mushrooms. It was fantastic! Cooking the cheese within the steak made a big difference as every bite was slathered in cheese, onions and mushrooms. The portion of meat to bun is outstanding and was a fantastic deal for $7.50 USD. Service was excellent and friendly and we can see why this is such a great local joint. Highly, highly recommended! 5/5! Now there is an Elite review up! Well done!!

We wanted a quick lunch before checking into Kalahari resort. A quick yelp search and Sherry's place popped up. 5 star reviews and great pictures made us decide to give this place a try. If it wasn't for the post about Salvation Army we wouldn't have been able to find this place. It's basically just a red food truck in a parking lot. We ordered hot dogs, chicken fingers, beef cheesesteak with onions and cheese as well as funnel cake fries. The cheesesteak was very good, they cook the cheese with the meat so you get cheese with every bite. Not like other places that puts the cheese on top of the meat like an afterthought. The meat portion was very generous as well for $7.50 The hot dog was pretty standard and the chicken fingers were pretty good with fries that were very fresh and satisfying. They had a great crunch and were not greasy at all. Overall a great quick meal at very reasonable price. The cheesesteak was the best dish here.

So happy she was open today! Excellent service with a smile even in the snow. We tried the fries, cheesesteak and a cheeseburger. Everything was delicious. They even ran the food over to the van. Definitely the best cheesesteak of the Poconos! So much meat I couldn't even bite it in 1 bite. Nice soft bread and piping hot! You will be happy. Enjoy! Oh yeah! They ran out some extra chilli cheese fries left over from an order and they were so so so good! Reminded me of Checkers chIlli cheese fries except way way better! If they weren't closing I would've ordered some more. I'm coming back tomorrow (our last day in the Poconos) for more! So affordable and delicious. Beat every place in the Kalahari to eat on portions, freshness, taste and of course affordability. Only a 5 min drive from the Kalahari.

Been going to Sherry's for years now. Best hot dogs, burgers, cheese steak and chili anywhere in the Poconos.

Sophia was our waitress and she was wonderful and patient with us. We had a little one with us and the entire wait staff was so kind to her. We ordered the calamari and fries as a starter and omg it was amazing. The fries were the best and we def needed to place a second order for another round of fries. As an entree, my sister and I ordered the chefs special to share. It came with a steak, crab cake, and lobster tail, steamed string beans, and mashed potatoes. There was also a variety of sauces. Everything was soo delicious and loved that we got a taste of everything with the platter. We enjoyed our dinner and loved the ambiance. Olivia and the entire wait staff were great through our entire visit. I will def visit when I'm back in the area.

As an out of towner who has access to amazing cuisine options in my area this restaurant gets three stars and that's being nice. When you walk in it's like a motel entrance. Literally it has all the tourist pamphlets lining the entrance to the hostess stand which doubles as the front desk of the hotel. It's not welcoming and feels cheap. To get to the restaurant you walk down a narrow long bar area where plenty of locals (I'm assuming) were enjoying happy hour. Loud and unwelcoming imho. We were seated in a two top which is super close to another two top. When I requested a booth in leu of the table (every booth was empty) the hostess said they were all reserved. Noting during our entire dining experience there were empty booths. Felt a little shady. Server was very sweet and great personality but unfortunately was not very fast. Every time she finally came back to the table she was apologizing for taking so long. She had other tables but wasn't in the weeds that we could see (in my youth I worked both as a server and hostess). The homemade bread we were looking forward to wasn't fresh and it was lacking taste as was the dipping oil. Adding salt and pepper helped the oil dip. Even though we were both hungry we didn't eat all the bread. That's a problem. We ordered clams as an appetizer. Again, tasteless needed salt, no flavor otherwise. For dinner, I ordered a seafood trio with Brussel sprouts. My husband ordered a fillet cooked, medium with a baked potato. The crabcake lacked flavor had way too much filling tasted like it came from Cisco. After a second bite, I would not eat anymore. The shrimp was ho hum and the lobster not that great either. My husband's steak was very bland no flavor in the meat even though it was cooked to temperature with a slight char on the outside. Because of the slow service and lack of flavor in the food we just wanted to check and get out of there as quickly as possible. What a bust for over $200.

The flatbread was just okay, cheese was tasteless and broccoli was nearly raw. The beer was also just okay, I got the pumpkin, blueberry, cream ale, and Hefeweizen. Nothing to write home about. The blueberry was particularly bad - but the pumpkin was good. There was musical bingo which was fun, but they play the songs waaaaay too long, never been to a musical bingo like that. Maybe play each song for 30 seconds, this guy played each song for like 2 minutes it was crazy. In almost 3 hours they only had 3 rounds of bingo! Overall, I'm not running back to this place and didn't get any beer to go - rare for me from a brewery. Some staff was nicer than others. Shout of Aliya our sever for being very kind and attentive.

The staff was very nice and seated us promptly, we were sat at a table that was booth on one side and chair on the other but it was an extra tall bar stool type table. Soon as I sat down the sun was right in my eyes. Yes only a small nuisance till the bar tender shut a blind (because the bar folks were effected) but there were so many empty table. Why sit us at this table ? There were plenty of other tables that would not have had this issue. Not sure why the hostess would not know not to use this table for this time of day. Other then that the place was very clean and a normal pub type atmosphere. Nothing super special though. We started off with an appetizer called the "Texas Twinkie" - okay. I read "twinkie" and think some form of cake/bread with a filling. What we got was more of an egg roll. The outside was either a wonton type wrap or a tortilla then filled with brisket, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, jalapeño, and BBQ sauce. This was very delicious but definitely misleading in the name and the menu didnt really describe the item, it only give the name and listed the ingredients. I bring this up because we also ordered the traditional pizza.... what we got was more of a flatbread and pretty bland as well. Super basic bread with a lack of flavor marinara sauce and cheese. Also the sauce to cheese ratio was sad. You can tell this because all the cheese on the slice would come right off with 1 bite. We would not order this again based on the price and what was served. I also had the French onion soup. This was pretty well done. Not to salty, no crazy cheeses added. It was well balanced and was worth getting. My partners entree was the barley creek whiskey BBQ sauce on chicken tenders. These were just ok. The sauce seemed more tomatoe based then normal for a BBQ sauce and again just wasn't what one would expect from the name whiskey Bbq sauce. I am sure people do like this place but it wasn't very impressive to us. 3 out 5 stars is a fair rating as service was good for the most part, the place was clean with a decent amount of menu options, but the execution of the food lacked and the menu names are definitely misleading for the items we had ordered.
