I had filed a grievance against therapist Katy Jones for fabricating situations to limit my time with my children in a Waupaca county court ordered coparenting counceling. Katy Jones was specifically referred to be used by Waupaca county court/GAL, Robin Koch. My grievance was internally investigated by their patient rights specialist Kathren Dupar Skelly (spelling???) It was all founded by her investigation. Kathren almost immediately left or was let go along with what seemed as anyone who showed a sliver of empathy. Also almost immediately the company changed names and Katy Jones was promoted to clients. rights specialist. These people have no intentions on putting your mental health or your children's best interest first by any means. Would never recommend using any one of the companies that are or were affiliated with Sherman counseling and if forced by the court to use them record every minute of it because what actually is said and what they "note" in the records are two separate things read more

Woulf not give it a 1 at this point. My daughter was going here well over a year ago,her bill has been paid off and has been harassed several times for an outstanding bill when she had paid it all off. Had to prove not once but twice and then today ended up with the same amount of a bill. Do not waste your time. She is having to prove it yet again. Having to constantly email and prove it. If you call the office there is no bill due. Run. Do not go through this company or the new named company. It's shocking how after over a year not being there they are still wanting you to pay a bill. She saved all the bills proving she paid and bank statements. No one should have to hold on to this. read more

Extremely disappointing. They only get back to you if you email them two to three times, which is extremely unprofessional and rude. I was told that I had an appointment that they never even ended up setting up for me, and then they were extremely rude and placed the blame on me for not even having the appointment booked when that ISN'T MY JOB TO DO. I had initially worked out the details for over a week to clear up my schedule and find free time after school for the appointment, and have an email CONFIRMING THE DATE OF THE APPOINTMENT. Afterwards, I talked to three different women there who all had completely different stories about the appointment (one being that the link wasn't working, one being that I simply didn't show up, and one that I was called repeatedly and just never answered, when I was only called once and then never had my calls returned when I tried to call back) and that's when I knew something was up. When I confronted Jennifer about it for blaming me, she never emailed me back and I haven't heard back since. This behavior seems pretty consistent with other reviews. Don't waste your time here. This is false advertising and leading you to call them to see a therapist of your choice only to offer one of the remaining therapists. This company is falsely representing themselves. I have a stressed life. My example:If you want to live in a place where your neighbor can threaten you, harass, and play loud music all day and night then this place is for you. And a pervy neighbor peeping in windows at night. The management makes you take care of the problems you have yourself. Totally ineffective management of the park from pothole laden roads that could damage your car and bottom it out to harassing neighbors. I have never lived in such an awful place in my entire life. And they can prevent you anyway they can from you selling or removing your mobile home to move out. I have been parked in by neighbors, they have driven on the lawn and thrown trash in my yard. Not to mention the neighbors walk through your lot often and management doesn't stop it. And then because the neighbors that walk through your lot so many times the grass is dead management expects you to spend a few hundred dollars to add soil, nutrients, and seeds to fix it. And when you cover that area, you just fixed and staked it, the trespassing neighbors rip it all up and toss it all over your lot. I currently have a neighbor that has put holes in my screens, siding, and skirting yet management says just call the police. Very high crime in the park for the area. Many older units that seem to me to be fire hazards. Let us also not forget that many of the units I seriously doubt ever were properly inspected when set up. Didn't see any slabs but one, saw not one tie down to earth on any unit, and what about how close they are together and to the road. I don't honestly believe that the water actually pass a state water quality test. And we just had the water shut off in the park because I was told by one of there workers that a waterline burst, so wouldn't there be a water quality test performed? And let's not forget about power being shut off and water as well with little usually no notice ahead of time. That cost me a water heater and thousands of dollars in repairs to my mobile home. And then you get a warning to repair the damage that the management knows your neighbor caused. Isn't it their job to maintain a safe rental property? This is the only place I have ever lived where the tenant is responsible for dealing with all these issues. I see this park as a place that has no respect for tenants and tenants don't seem to have any rights. If I could give the park a zero I would. And I fear for my family's safety from harassing the neighbor that peeks in our windows. Also spies on neighbors with cameras and brags, he puts it on Youtube and makes money from it. Which violates the lease, but management won't do anything. The worst area is the 60s Lots, the worst roads and loudest area of the park. Really loud tenants like Lot 67 and he is newer but has no respect and tries to start fights with other tenants. I have seen it on a regular basis. He acts like a petulant child whining, yelling, and threatening to get his way. Absolutely useless manager, I have never seen or heard of her doing anything about any complaints. Living here is like living in a nightmare that never ends. And like I said, they do their absolute best to prevent you from selling or moving your mobile home. Do yourself a favor, don't live here. You would probably be better off living in a cardboard box down by the river. And without the help I got I wouldn't be able to deal with all that. My first therapist with them was horrible. During brainspotting she would fall asleep and if awake, kept reaching to turn her computer screen bk on. How can you actually brainspot with a sleeping therapist and a distracting one. Repeatedly told me I basically should leave my husband instead of helping me stay. He isn't abusive, we have a terminally ill child and he became distant. I needed help with that, not leaving, and had to hear how she left her husband. Kept checking her phone after her son was in a car accident, he was perfectly fine though, no injuries. So I'm not sure why she had to keep looking. I feel like I needed therapy from receiving therapy. When I confronted her with why I was leaving, she turned everything around on me! I found a new therapist and, and found out it also was sherman. Thankfully she left, and I'm no longer in an abusive therapy/ billing setting, I followed my therapist to her new place. Never ever again will I go to a Sherman based facility. The billing alone is enough to say, stay away! The billing, where do I start? It makes 0 sense, and it says I have paid a ridiculous low amount and nothing is detailed. I refuse to pay anymore, since for all I know they owe me money. I have left numerous calls, just to get a bill that isn't detailed. It doesn't show any of my payments, except at bottom says ytd, which isn't even the correct amount. read more

Terrible billing practices. Better check your credit card statement every month, because they charge your credit card for multiple co-pays for the same appointment - not just a one time occurrence, but repeatedly. They also bill you for no-show fees for appointments, even if you cancel a week in advance. Have to wonder if this is just incompetence or fraud. read more

We used Sherman Counseling for our adolescent son for several months and eventually moved away from needing services. The therapy services were fine, but Sherman's billing practices are sub-par. Its been over a year since we've ceased using their services and they now send us a $150 bill for a supposed "no show" on an appointment back from 2019 and its now 2021. I contacted their billing department as our insurance has an agreement with Sherman that all services must be billed out within 12 months. I was informed that this wasn't considered an insurance billable item and therefore didn't need to follow that same criteria. I'm not quite sure how its expected that a person maintain records of appointments for several years on the off chance they need to dispute a missed appointment. Seems to me these are pretty shady and unethical billing policies. If you do use Sherman, please make sure to keep a lengthy and detailed record of your appointments. read more

Amy Henning has been one of the most difficult counselors we have ever worked with. She had multiple openings which should have been a red flag for us. She does not advocate for children and heavily supports those with alcohol and drug addictions. Our child's safety was never priority for her. She was ALWAYS running late for our appointments. One particular time in which she walked in 20 minutes late but had 8 bags of groceries in her hands. Unprofessional, and not worth your money. read more

I chose Sherman counseling because they had good reviews and the specific counselor I chose specialized in marriage and family counseling. At first I wasn't sure if we would be a good fit but after our first session I thought I should give it more time. I saw this therapist for about 2.5mo before I left. She continued to tell me that my husband would never change and that I would need to get a divorce. When I told her I was not there to get a divorce that I was looking for help to work though my emotions and learn to communicate better with my spouse. She then Decided to tell me about her own abusive Marriage that she ended up leaving and how she is better for doing so. She said if I chose to stay things would never get better but she would help me to work through it and help me plan an escape so I would be safe. I felt that on several occasion she was less than professional. Several session started late but always ended when my hour was up even I hadn't received a full hour she was late or with another patient, and once in our session she was looking through her phone and then said "oh give me a minute, I just got notice that a flight ticket I have been watching dropped in price. I need to quick buy my ticket so I don't lose this deal." I had had enough and was done with her. I later was much more picky with the place I chose. I made sure they were Christian based (this is important to me not everyone) and talked/questioned them extensively on the phone before I set up my first session with them. I found a marriage counselor, who called himself a coach, who instead of telling me to leave my marriage worked with both my husband and I about our communication skills and some anger management issues and within 6mo our marriage is completely different, I wish I had found him sooner. So be careful who you chose and what you are looking for. Do you homework! not everyone with a license IS qualified! read more

Although I read the previous reviews and it seemed highly recommended, I choose someone else- due to almost immediately receiving an email asking what kind of insurance we had, but nothing else. I responded with a few questions about them and all I received back was AGAIN what kind of insurance do you have. No, I don't have Medicaid, & I would not recommend them. If this is truly the only reason they are in business, then it really makes me wonder how caring and compassionate they really are about their patients. read more

Sherman counseling, formerly consulting, is the best place and best people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and being a part of. My counselor helped me bring myself back from the depths of my bipolar depression. When I first walked through those doors, I didn't know what to expect. What I received, was beyond what I believed real counseling could do for me, and what I could do for myself. I came from the pits of my own despair, and today I truly believe in myself and my ability to handle life on life's terms, and be ok with that. My counselor truly believed in me, and coached me to believe in myself. I was a bit sad on the day I finally discharged, but it was a great feeling to have pulled through so much! I am currently an employee of Sherman Counseling, and have been for over 5 years. I started as front desk clerical, and moved my way up into management and working directly with the owners. This clinic has really taught me a lot, and I continue to learn more and more each day. All of the therapists are very professional, funny, and truly great folks to be around. Our motto is to improve the quality of life, this motto is not only for our clients, but also for our staff. Sherman takes great pride in providing excellent services to our clients, but also treats all staff with respect and dignity, and allows everyone to voice their opinion, regardless of their position within the company. It also is truly heartwarming to see that our therapists do truly make a difference in our clients lives. I've had such a great experience at Sherman Counseling! Everyone was friendly, attentive and my counselor was excellent. I know there is such a stigma to counseling, but if you are thinking about giving it a try this place is definitely worth it. read more
