I stopped in for a look around while on vacation. The clothes are pretty much what you'd find at a goodwill or on SHEIN, except priced around $50-$200 an item on average. There aren't price tags and labels on alot of items, so you have to ask what the price is so that she can bargain with you asking things like, "how much are you willing to pay" yet explaining that everything is consigned. It gives garage sale vibes, and something is way off here. This is definitely not a consignment store; it seems shady. I've been to a lot of consignment stores that specialize in designer and couldn't find one item that was of that quality. Maybe a few things you'd find at TJ Max like a Coach purse, but nothing you wouldn't see at a garage sale. Most of the items were outdated and not even remotely timeless or classic. Some of the items she gave a price for were shocking. Like I thought maybe would be $15 or $25 max and she'd say like $195. It was beyond strange. I do not recommend this store; it's definitely not what it's marketed as. You'd have better luck at Goodwill and for a tiny fraction of the price. read more

Place is a complete scam. I went in yesterday with my friend, we saw the little store and were on vacation so we don't know the area or seen the bad reviews but can confirm all the one star reviews are true! She is the best con artist I've yet to see, smothers you with sweetness, tries to make a personal connection really fast and then essentially rob you. I picked three dresses (which looked like they should have been priced at $20 max each) and she said $415. No official labels on anything or proof of it being "vintage." I said that was way too much and I couldn't do that and tried to put one of the dressed back. I said I didn't want it about 500 times and she kept coming back with well let me take $25 off and give you this present which was a $10 coupon she probably uses all the time to scam people and took that dress from 125 to 95. Surprisingly, the total cost at the end of her deductions went right back to $415 lol. At that point I was so tired of arguing with her and her not taking no for an answer so I was like whatever. Don't even get me started on the $200 dress she swore up and down was vintage designer but had 0 proof and said a "French girl" brings her lots of cool things and that was one of them. It was probably from SHEIN I'm not even kidding. After walking to my car and looking more at the clothing that all looked $4 from china, my friend had to go back in there and handle her for me (my friend is 40 I think she took her more seriously than me) and demanded a refund. Of course she said store credit only and then a bunch of bs about having to call the card company at the end of the day. I am surprised I actually did receive a refund but boy did she drag it out and STILL kept trying to get me to come back and get one of the dresses. Really evil energy in there that prays on innocent people and counts on our stupidity which I def had a moment of by even buying her worthless pieces. Our theory is it's not even consignment with other people it's her and her scammy ass business partner. Please stay away from this bs store I don't appreciate being lied to. read more

Second time here since my daughter's wedding in 2012 when I scored a Tadashi for myself and a beautiful flowy outfit for my mother. She looked fabulous. Unfortunately this time I was unsuccessful as I have put on weight and my choices were limited for a more dressy casual outfit this time for my son's wedding. I love this store! The owner is so sweet and really helped me when shopping. She is passionate about fashion and talking to her about all the unique pieces she has is always fun. As someone who resells designer and vintage items I can say that these items might seem pricey to some but for the unique and designer labels the prices are great! Most items in there are vintage designer so buying them brand new could easily be twice the price! Seeing BCBG, Max Mara, Prada, Italian/French labels and so much more is a rarity to find in San Diego. She has such a good eye for fashion it was hard to walk away from so many amazing items. I got a beautiful silky top that is amazing quality and cut. A designer top like that currently sells for $1,185 and I got it for $130. Really great considering it's vintage, will last a long time while supporting a small business. Will definitely be coming back! Found some amazing shoes too. read more

Last minute today I looked up what time of high end thrift stores were around and Sheri's was closest and held designer. Before walking in I checked out the Yelp reviews and quickly noticed multiple 1star comments that spoke about a similar story. The moment I walked in I was kindly greeted. I instantly saw multiple items I was interested in. Because of the reviews, I felt the need to clarify the pricing and how it works so I wasn't tricked. She was very clear that since it's a consignment store only the owners of the items have the control to alter existing ticket price. If the item has been there for an extended period of time, the store itself can possibly sell at discounted price. At that moment I could see how customers would get it confused with classic thrifting. Stopped in with a friend a week ago. From the start the owner was condescending. The shop was dusty and cluttered, I only saw one potentially nice item, a max mara jacket, that the owner said was thousands of dollars and wouldn't let me try on. This is a smallish consignment shop, stuffed with loads of women's garments. Items are densely packed on the racks. It appears that many items gave been here for months. Prices are high compared to other similar, high fashion label manufacturers consignment shops. However, the owner is willing to call the owner of a garment to see if they are willing to drop the price. It seems to me that a stricter pricing policy of lowering price based on time in the store would provide a better shopping experience. I was desperate to find just a plain white tank top that actually fit. I'm very well endowed in the bust and every other shop has sizes that start at medium and go down from there... I found one here, she wanted $49 for it! I was the idiot to actually buy it but she's a down right THIEF! It wasn't until after I got back to the hotel and realized it has 2 small burn marks on the back! I had noticed her scratching at something and just thought it was dirty. I went to return it and she wanted to argue with me about it. When I put my foot down and said she was lying she then started to say I was yelling at her. I told her I wasn't but I would start, then she asked if I was threatening her. I laughed in her face and let her know I'd be calling my card company. Stay far away from this crook! I happen to be pulled over in my truck on the way to a concert and found this little gem on the side of the road. The owner was fabulous and picked out exactly what I wanted - A vintage jean skirt that was tasteful and age appropriate. Her shop was clean and inviting. She worked with the seller and reduced the price significantly and I was impressed. The skirt was laundered and even looked pressed and I was able to wear it that evening. Sheri's CONsignment gives new meaning to the word CON. Word of warning, don't say yes to the dress .... Why pay full price retail when you can pay triple at the second hand store? The price was not listed on the dress. My bad that i didn't catch the price upon signing the receipt, I was in disbelief when i checked my credit card ledger. I looked at comparables of the exact same dress on-line that ranged from $12-$40. Immediately returned to the store to see if there had been an error on price. I should of been alarmed when there are no prices on items. The item i bought had an "original" jcrew tag. Upon purchasing the item not only did Sheri the owner charge 3x the cost of the item but she cut the tag off and provided no receipt. I walked back into the store minutes after looking at my credit card ledger, and finding the item listed online for $160 cheaper to see if there had been a mistake. She assured me there had not, that was the price, when questioning her and asking for proof that the item was worth the outrageously high price she took offense and refused to refund the purchase, or provide explanation or proof of the price. She just picks a price apparently, cuts the tag off and reattached the original tag to the next item, to state it's "new never been worn!" When I attempted to take the cut off tag she wouldn't let me take it...strange I thought. I can't even get over my experience here today. Strolling through town I saw the words designer resale and had to stop in. Black pleather Celine purse caught my eye, owner told me its fake and I enquired bout price, when she said $799!!! I could not help but laugh out loud! But it's fake!!! Do you know what they retail? Of course lady, a few grand so $799 for a used one would be a fair price, an AUTHENTIC used one. She asked what I was willing to pay, I said $20, she looked at me like I was nuts. It's fake and a bad fake, the writing was blurred, it's not real leather, the handles are wrapped with plastic for crying out loud. Mind blown. I was dismayed and annoyed when I saw the prices for worn out not gently used clothing and accessories in this store. When I was at the Encinitas Street fair recently, I was looking for an Encinitas sweatshirt to take back home to the East Coast and there were some hanging on a rack outside the store so I went inside to in inquire about another color. The sweatshirt was appropriately priced but the consignment merchandize was way off the mark. The store is dark, dingy and overcrowded but I was mostly stunned by the overpriced goods they offer to the public. Buyer beware--this rating of $$ is not accurate! The store is stocked with options for everyone and some hidden treasures to be found if you're in the right place at the right time. I got a gorgeous Dolce & Gabbana leather jacket and Sheri was willing to negotiate on price with the garment owner to help offset the hard USD - CAD exchange rate that I am victim to! Sheri was extremely kind and intelligent and I am so grateful to her for helping me add a classic piece to my closet for a fair price. Like I said,this is the true spirit of consignment shopping. I went into Sheri's over the weekend and inquired about a pair of used boots. The sales person told me that the price of these used boots $300!!! She also told me that they were "new" when they had been clearly resoled with a different sole on the front half of the bottom sole. Overpriced clothing for a resale store $300 for a dull, used and dirty coach purse? I thought the price tag read 29.99 and that would make sense but the owner corrected me and informed me the purse was 299.00! What? Plus tax! I couldn't believe it. Other items were in poor condition and completely overpriced, more than the original price in some cases. I felt like I was on candid camera or something bc this place was so off with their pricing, not to mention how small, cluttered and DUSTY it was in the store. I wouldn't even give them 1 star except for having to in order to write a review. I honestly don't know how this so-called "resale" clothing store stays in business especially in a prime lease area of Encinitas. My first time in I met Sheri, the owner. She is one of the kindest shop owners (and people) I've ever met! She has beautiful items in stock. A lot of designer pieces which were out of my price range, but some that were more fitting to my budget, and even then, she was willing to work with me on the price of the item I wanted and was so sweet to me and my little toddler who was in tow.
