What I did know is that when I met Rachel, I was immediately drawn to her energy--she has a calmness and peace about her that's really rare in LA. She's clearly doing something right. I followed Rachel on Instagram for a while and some of her lessons really spoke to me, specifically about protecting one's energy and setting energetic boundaries. After a stressful and exhausting week at work, I reached out to Rachel for help in setting those boundaries. Our session was virtual and I had no idea what to expect. I work a very cerebral job as a research scientist, and my mind is often going a million miles a minute. When I had my first session with Jenny, I was feeling overwhelmed about everything I had on my plate to finish by the end of the day. Last weekend I had my first session with Jaret. I am a recently reformed skeptic when it comes to…read moreenergy work and things like it, so this was my very first time trying reiki. While I was very hopeful and in desperate need of some help, I really had no clue what to expect. I had read from most peoples experiences with reiki that they felt some heat and that they felt relaxed, but I was going for deeper energy work and trauma healing, so was hoping for a bit more. And with Jaret I got it. It was great all the way through, though in the beginning I didn't feel anything super mystical, or energetic, or heat from his hands per say. But I instantly felt relaxed, safe and like this was a good space for healing. Jaret utilized many different healing modalities, not just reiki, which is why I think I would recommend him above other practitioners. In your session you can opt for light touch massage, and to kind of talk through it. I would suggest this. It was like going to a great therapist plus a massage therapist, a chiropractor and getting a hug from your grandmother all in one. Within 15 minutes I was able to release some blocked emotions, which is very hard for me. But did so in a safe, healing and relaxing way. Towards the end of the sessions is when I really noticed the energy work itself kick in. He was working down by my feet and all of a sudden it was like a switch flipped and my mind turned off and went into a different zone, instead of constantly working and analyzing and judging everything, suddenly my whole body and mind relaxed, it felt as if my mind where floating around in a warm bowl of honey, in outer space. Lol. Thats the only way to describe it. It was odd, but clear that he had done something energetically, and something that was very much needed to quiet and relax my mind. It was much more than I had hoped for, a very beautiful, moving and healing experience.
