And they've got so much more than books. I visited today and was offered a tour of their Digital Media Lab. Patrons of the library can take advantage of several 3-D printers and only pay for supplies. Cricut machines and software are available to create card, paper products, tee shirt transfers, mugs and more. A state-of-the-art video studio and several audio studios are available for aspiring performers. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and proactively helpful. I got inspiration for an upcoming project that I am working on for a family reunion. One of the staffers printed off information that I needed for my project. The children's area of the library is huge, filled with books, discovery lab, reading areas and an activity room. Toddlers were playing with a few toys during my visit. Upstairs, I found a massive collection of videos and adult books. Several banks of computers were buzzing with patrons taking advantage of the free service. The staff was friendly and happy to show where to find specific books. Comfy seating and work spaces are scattered throughout the facility. Several conference rooms can be reserved for community use. The building is beautiful with a modern architecture that lets in lots of natural light. There is a featured art wall in the lower level. A bookstore and coffee shop are available near the main entrance. There is a parking garage on the south side of the building complete with EV plug stations. Restroom facilities are upscale and immaculate. The library is an easy 5 stars and sets a high standard for libraries.

I have been to the Joyce Winner West Branch of CCPL a couple times. Joyce Winner was a local…read morephilanthropist and avid book reader. When she passed, her husband James Winner, seized the opportunity to support the newly constructed library in her honor. Joyce was well known in the community and within local book clubs. Today, her legacy is vivid throughout the beautiful library facility in West Clay. There is a photo of Joyce in the Children's Area of the library. The library is new, upscale with lot's of book-themed art and fixtures. The children's section has a great selection of colorful and award winning titles. There are study areas upstairs offering a quiet work space. And of course, there is free WiFi throughout out. The librarians are wonderfully helpful and engaging. This week, I took my granddaughter to the library. We read several books by the cozy fireplace in the sunroom area. I also read the daily newspapers. We picked up several of the monthly craft kits available to stimulate creativity of the patrons. My granddaughter also worked on the large mosaic puzzle that changes monthly in the library. Books that are not available at this branch can be ordered from other branches. There is street parking out front. This is a wonderful little library with a lot of interesting activities. Don't forget to pick up the Spice of the Month packet at the front desk (the April spice is rosemary).

There is a main book area, upstairs private rooms, and a side room that's full of windows and beautiful natural light. They always have the new books out on the shelf where they are easily accessible. At this library we have the best of both worlds, the old fashion book and access to almost any book on line. The current facility was built in the 1990's as an addition to the previous Carnegie facility. The new facility is spacious with two floors of books and a third floor of study and meeting rooms. I took my granddaughter to check out the library during her spring break. The colorful children's area is located in the basement area. There is a massive collection of books and, today, there were space-themed books on display. There is a large play area for toddlers with kitchen and climbing structures. A number of board games and puzzles are available for kids to play in an open area. We read several books in a cozy area. There is a classroom available near the area. Librarians were friendly and helpful in the children's area. On the main floor, are adult books, a teen activity center and a heritage room. The teen center attracts after school teen that can work on homework, play games or work on art projects. The heritage center houses reference materials including local school year books, local history, genealogy materials, local newspapers and much more. One of the most interesting features of the Library is the collection of vintage art by local artist. Beautiful paintings and more are located throughout the library. Quiet work areas are scattered throughout the library for study or work. Free WIFI is available. They are an Evergreen member. The facility is wheel chair and stroller friendly. Free street parking is available.

Our library has something for everyone. There's a seed library for gardeners. There are 8 Adult book clubs. There are computer classes for teens and adults. For Teens there are video game clubs, a dance party and crafts. Our library offers incredibly diverse offerings that are inclusive. From activities for neurodivergent teens, a variety of events for children and English-speaking classes led by volunteers for adults. The library also has activities for Welcoming Week, September 13-22.

Later, I was told by a friend who lives near this library, and who visits frequently to pick up her holds, that the library has been in a state of renovation for years. They fix one part and move onto another. It's always a construction site, it seems. That said, if you go downstairs, you'll be treated to a delightful children's area. No signs of construction or renovation here. There are lots of things to play with and explore, and even though it's in the basement, the area feels light and bright, with natural light coming in through the copious windows. This area of the library also has a Mamava nursing station! I love that. The whole area was quiet and peaceful when I visited. Another cool thing about this library: They have a zine that's produced by Noblesville / Fishers teens! It's free, and I found it on the first floor. I love that they're encouraging kids to create their own print media.

It also features quite a few "nooks" in which you could get lost in a book, study or get some work done. I really enjoyed the modern architecture, and from my seat I had a beautiful view of shade-loving plants. The desks along the west wall of the building all featured outlets as well as usb ports. There's also a bay of PC's, a children's room as well as what appeared to be a good-sized meeting space on the far north wall. The building itself and restrooms were very clean. There is a computer area available for anyone to use as well as a copy machine. The computers are getting to be a bit old school but I find it's part of the charm. The children's area is well stocked with toys, books, and activities. Nice selection of current magazines. Music and DVD collection is slender and lacking but they do have some current titles. Plenty of spacious areas to sit and read or study and a few tables with chairs as well. A small selection of Spanish titles are hiding out on a shelf near the magazines. Librarians here are super friendly and more than happy to help assist you with anything you may need. While not overflowing with a plethora of new books or authors you might be interested in, HNPL is a nice library and you are sure to find something you will like. You'll find me in the cookbooks!
