Being a cards fan, I'm super happy I got to catch them play the cubbies on the Friday before 4th of July. If you remember correctly, the cards beat the cubs by 16 runs, but I digress. Wrigleyville is an amazing area, and it was really cool to go through this experience again while watching the game. We sat at the bleachers with our $18 beers (yikes, yet typical) and had the best time. It wasn't super hot this day due to a storm (thank goodness) but definitely recommend taking some sunscreen, glasses, and a hat if you find yourself there when the sun is blazing. They have Chicago style hotdogs, burgers, Italian beef, snacks and beer and wine. The views on the rooftops vary but ours was nice and the weather was great. We took the el this time and it's so convenient to get off right at Addison. They beat the Pirates 12-2 and we had a great time!

Our seats were an amazing view of first base and there were a variety of crowd engagement activities. Some of the best stadium food can be found there too. Usually I get nachos, but I switched it up this time by going to Lucky's for the Gochujang Bubble Waffle. It was the perfect balance of spicy and sweet and well worth the price. Later on I grabbed a margarita that came in a cute souvenir cup. It was fun to drink and helped keep me cool. I look forward to attending more Sox games in the future!

This is located next to Palmisano Park, so you get a twofer. A lot inside this kind of small park that makes it feel bigger. It's got a fieldhouse with an assembly hall, two gymnasiums, and a pool. The athletic fields include baseball diamonds, football and soccer fields, and tennis courts among other things. Lots for kids to do here. There's also a playground and interactive water feature good in summers. For sure it's a good place for an athletic child. It's known for its many youth leagues and programs. This gives them something to do in the summer or whenever.

In the summer the tennis courts and paths are always busy, but I've never felt like the grassy area was overwhelming with people like some parks/beaches along the lakefront can be. It really is a hidden gem along the lakefront. There are plenty of trees if you want to hang a hammock or find a shady spot to relax or read a book. It's family friendly, with people having cookouts throughout the summer months, and groups of friends playing spike ball and other lawn games. You can jump into the lake right from there, and there are plenty of ladders along the concrete wall to climb back up. Bring your dog, or watch all the cute pups as they trot by! There are multiple bus stops along the paths making it easily accessible for anyone with a Ventra card. Plus, a DIVVY station is on the other side of Lakeshore Drive (there is a underground path to the park) if you're coming from the West. Definitely my lakefront go-to in the summer & fall!

The park is great for picnics, people-watching, or walking the track. We typically come here to play on the swings though! They have baby swings which is perfect for my 9-month old. The playground is large with activities great for children of all ages that I know my baby will grow into along the way. On the weekends it can be busy, but adults and kids have always been respectful when playing. It's a great park, and we are so happy/lucky to live close by!

There were some trees around the edge of the park in the shade where I hung out. This is my first time here, but I think I found my new place to come and relax during the warmer months! Just one note: there are dogs some off leash, something to be aware of just in case that's an issue for you. I didn't have any issues with doggos running up to me even with my food.

There are often sporting events going on, particularly baseball/softball, on the numerous fields. I'm looking forward to trying out the renovated tennis courts this summer (so I've heard!!!). My only complaint is that they have not reopened the public restrooms. There are port-o-potties during the Summer season; however, they aren't always clean or easily accessible. It is a bummer since there aren't many storefronts super close by that allow public restroom use.

The northeast baseball diamond has lights which EPBC uses (may have flipped the bill, not sure though) for night baseball games. Restrooms are available and are relatively clean. Parking is available on 92nd Street. This is another fine park offered by Evergreen Park. It lies in a quiet, drama free, pocket of the village.
