I thought this was such a fun idea. Of course there are ping pong tables at some park districts but this was a great idea to have a place, especially at this location, where you can play ping pong at almost any time (they are open until 2AM!!!). I thought the check-in and accessing the tables was really smart/easy to do and had a great time. My husband and I reserved a private room as we weren't sure what to expect. When you walk in, there are a few tables in the open space for play. It's a somewhat small space so the private room is located in the back. There isn't a person who checks you in -everything is self locating/self check-in. The private room is cool with a tv that can show pictures, you can hook your blue tooth up to the speaker and there are couches for others to sit on. It's also easy to add additional time if your time is up. Lastly - there's a bathroom connected to the private room which is really convenient. We had a lot of fun playing our own games - theres a score board on the side and you press a button under the table to record scores. I truly had a wonderful time and would love to try PingPod again. This is also a great idea for groups of people especially late at night.

We had so much fun visiting PingPod! It's definitely an interesting experience, there are no workers at this establishment and everything is accessible via the account you set up. The private room was awesome it had Bluetooth to play your own music and small private bathroom. There aren't really any food or drinks allowed and no alcohol allowed. It was clean and after an hour we were tired but had so much fun!

Pingpod was a fun and active experience for me and my friends that had us all sweating at points! First, the door opens with a click of a button from an email sent to the bookie. The name of that bookie is also on the little screen kiosk that keeps score as well as a short instructional video on how to arrange games. Hence, this is a place for casual players like myself or someone who wants to book a class with a professional ping pong coach. Overall, this was a very comfortable and spacious environment that would allow groups of all ages to enjoy themselves and have either some competitive games with friends or casual games with grandma.

Visiting The Rookery was one of those quiet Chicago moments that really sticks with you. From the…read moreoutside it's understated, but once you step into the Light Court, the space opens up with natural light, ironwork, and detail everywhere you look. The Frank Lloyd Wright staircase is subtle but impressive--nothing flashy, just solid design that holds up over time.Tip for first-time visitors: go on a weekday and aim for mid-morning if you can--the light is best, it's calmer, and you'll actually have space to stop and look around. It's not a long visit, but it doesn't need to be. The Rookery is simple, beautiful, and worth slowing down for.

Make no mistake, this space is stunning and definitely something to see. As a recent wedding guest,…read moreI was expecting more. The setup of the building makes for a cramped wedding. We had to stay in the crowded lobby for a long time before the ceremony space was opened. The restrooms are far away from the action, about as far from the party as they could be. The second floor cocktail space was cramped. The two bartenders were soooo slow. Not sure if they were part of the catering staff the Rookery uses or separate. Dinner was exceptional. No one knew the bar moved from the second floor to a space under a first-floor staircase for drinks after dinner. There was no announcement of where desserts were located. A lot of the issues I had with the wedding could have been eliminated had an experienced planner been hired. Too often during the day guests were not sure where to go or what was happening, what was next. It's a beautiful space but my advice to couples would be to hire a planner who is experienced and who has worked several wedding at the Rookery. Also, I was told the space was rented the night before the wedding so the couple couldn't have a rehearsal. Unfortunately, that was obvious and added to the disjointed event. Also, some tourist walked into the back of the ceremony space during the wedding. I would have thought Rookery staff/security would keep tourists out of a private event, but this is one of those things that will become a funny wedding story in a couple of years.
