We stayed in the Bay Tower with a room overlooking the bay and the Coronado NASCAR road course on the Navy base. We had view of turns 6 - 12 (something like that). We had forgot our binoculars. Damn!!! We were heading to the races the next morning. Great room. Super comfortable bed and other resort accommodations. The restaurants, bars, patios and pools at each of the two buildings offered a very comfortable and accommodating atmosphere in the afternoon into the evening hours. We were enjoying the World Cup matches. Great views of the marina from decks and walkways outside in the back. Pay attention to the "resort fee" being charged on your stay. $44 for all kinds of freebies including use of electric bikes for 1 hour each day of your stay, per person. If you don't use it, they just say "thank you" on your way out the door. There's also a shuttle between the two buildings. There's also mini cart shuttles that will take you wherever on the island. I booked a one-night stay near the marina and was transferred to this location. I wasn't looking to argue with anyone, but from my point of view, this property needs some serious attention. 1. Security Concerns It seemed like anyone could walk in and have access to different areas of the property. I didn't notice much security presence, which made me uncomfortable. 2. Poor Bar Service I went to the Shorelight and told the bartender I was stepping out for a smoke. He mentioned needing a card, so I handed it to him, but I had already told him I would be paying cash. Despite that, my card was charged anyway. This happened on Saturday night (6/13). Service was also extremely slow. There were only a few people inside, yet the bartender rarely checked on guests. I even ordered another drink, finished it, and ended up leaving a $20 bill under my cup because it took so long to get his attention. Hope he charge it unless....... 3. TV Issues The TV in the room had a noticeable line running across the screen and appeared to be damaged. 4. Condition of the Property The carpets and flooring looked worn out and in need of cleaning or replacement. 5. Cleanliness Concerns Around midnight, a large group arrived who appeared to be airline crew members. It made me wonder how thoroughly the rooms and sheets are cleaned and changed between guests when rooms are turned over so quickly. Had an incident and lost my ID while traveling. Called the hotel and asked for what can be done. The lady was rude and condescending. She stated that the hotel was at capacity and that I would not be able to check in. I asked several times if another person could be added to my reservation & if they could put down a new credit card/ID and she stated no. I asked for a manager and she put me on hold. Magically she stated that I could show up and add another person & get the rooms I needed. I showed up to the hotel and they charged both my card and the other person's card. This hotel got double paid and refuses to correct this. 3 days later and have no resolution. On top of that, this hotel charges $55 for self parking. SMH read more

Do not park here unless you want to wait 40 minutes for a shuttle. We called them and they said it just circles around - no problem we can be patient. Took 20 minutes and then two shuttles came but they were "reserved" for the flight crews that had come in even though they had just gotten to the spot they made us wait another 20 minutes. So, my airline cancelled my flight and ended up putting us in the nearby Sheraton hotel as they worked to rebook us on the next possible flight out of San Diego. Well, the Sheraton hotel was pleasant and the staff was friendly. We were given a King bed and the space was pleasantly sized - the water pressure from the shower was amazing and it actually felt pretty clean inside. Staff was also very helpful. Once we found out our flight the next day was in the late afternoon, my fiancé called the front desk to ask about a late check out and we were allowed to stay in till 2pm at no cost. The market/cafe they have in the lobby was nice enough - we both grabbed a coffee in the morning with breakfast sandwiches and ate in the lobby of the restaurant/bar area. Overall, it wasn't our choice to spend the night in San Diego, but the hotel we were in was nice enough and we can't really complain with the free shuttle to the airport. The only downside I'd say is that there was some banging noises during late morning... not sure if it was the construction. read more

I attended a holiday party here last night for a company and it seemed like there was also another bigger party going on that same night as well. If you have 2 huge company parties and anticipating a big crowd, they should have been more prepared for parking and managed it better. It was a horrible mess that caused traffic on the street. There were also no signs for the smallest holiday party I attended which is horrible considering a company booked you for a venue for about 300-400 guests so we got lost looking for the room especially since the bigger party was in front and basically took over. We had a buffet style dinner and basically served ourselves when each table was called out to get in line. The food was your typical American buffet style food. My husband did not like it at all surprisingly especially since he actually likes American food but I honestly thought it was okay and not bad because I've had way worse before! We did park and stay for flight to HI. We had a nice room with comfortable beds. Pizza and service at BrewX was good. The coffee/packaged food shop was understaffed but workers were kind. The coffee was not good-worst flavor I have had in many years. The room Keurig was a tad better and I hate keurigs. What happened to using Starbucks? Busy place on weekend with not enough staff for multiple events going on there. Loved the view over a harbor. Good pool for kids. read more

Stunning waterfront views, close proximity to the airport, and available airport shuttle are some of the benefits at staying at this Sheraton property. I stayed here for 4 nights for a convention and experienced both the pluses and minuses of this location. The property location affords stunning views of the waterfront. The outdoor pool is the prime location to relax and soak up the California sun. There are fire pits located near the pool and ample seating to accommodate a decent sized crowd. There's a waterfront path perfect for early morning or evening walks. My room was quite comfortable. The room was very clean all countertops and surfaces were dust free. Theres an abundance of power and USB plugs. There was even has an adjustable work table. Other room features include motion sensor lights in the restroom, safe, Keurig, refrigerator, and a balcony. The downside of this location is the remoteness from other restaurants. Aside from the in property restaurants, one would require an Uber ride. The close proximity to the airport means aircraft sounds can still be heard despite the closed balcony door. Morning line for coffee at the lobby coffee shop can get long due to the limited options. Overall, this is a great alternative if staying near the airport is a priority. Accessibility to nightlife will required a rental car of ride share. read more

Beautifully renovated room. Great staff. Responsive and helpful. The views are stunning. The food options are ok, my favorite was breakfast. Parking was expensive and since I was on business travel, I didn't even get to use the resort fee amenities... but still paid the resort fee. Seems like that should be an option especially since it was government rate and at other Marriott's government rate are not charged resort fees because it's usually business. My only complaint is the motion activated lights in the bathroom. They constantly went off while ai was in the shower and they were blinding when I got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. Great energy saving and modern option, but the pitfalls of shaving one's legs in the dark or being blinded in the middle of the night.... Not worth it. Lol. I stayed at this hotel for 1 night for a work related trip. I had a great experience. Reno at the front desk was wonderful! He was very professional and friendly. Employees like him with great customer service can really make a hotel stand out! The room I stayed in was spacious and comfortable. I went downstairs to their restaurant for breakfast and i had a lovely time sitting in their outside section. We had stayed here a couple times at the beginning and end of our trip to San Diego recently. They are in a convenient location close to the airport, and the free airport shuttle was something we took advantage of both times. This Sheraton is a resort and charges a daily fee. Some events are included for free, such as an hour of free tennis racket rentals, free s'mores kit, and some lawn games. They also have a nice view of the marinas on both sides of the hotel. The reason why we're giving them 4 stars is because of the inconsistency in the rooms that they offer. It's a little known secret that the Lanai tower hasn't been renovated yet, and they usually try to give you rooms in that tower unless you ask for rooms in the main tower. Breakfast at their restaurant was also limited as their kitchen was undergoing renovations, so breakfast items are items that you would typically expect from a continental breakfast offered at much cheaper hotels... We'll consider coming back once we can confirm all the renovations are done. read more

I think this Marriott got an update, because the lobby was not as rundown as I recall coming in the past. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. Got to my room and it still had the new furniture/carpet smell. I guess there has been some upgrades. There are two Sheratons next to each other and I believe this is a nicer one of the two. It was ok....didn't appreciate the construction, nor being awakened EARLY in the morning to a jack hammer...or hearing pounding through the walls in the lobby. But nothing that I controlled. The hotel was clean...they did the best they could I guess....but I have to say they weren't ready for the convention of almost 3,000 women! The new restaurant Rumorosa left much to be desired...San Diego being the food mecca it is...it just didn't hit the mark for me. Thank goodness for the cafe...it had some items that were more palatable in a crunch. Was grateful for Instacart and Doordash! Would I stay here again...probably not! But it was ok. I've stayed here a couple of times over the past four years and haven't had any issues until last night. I have an irrational fear of someone hiding in my room so I always check under the bed, in the closets, behind the curtains, etc. The room was warm since the AC was off and it smelt a little weird. No wonder, because I found a dirty diaper under the bed! I had to call down three times until someone answered, then after 10 minutes, housekeeping came to take it. She said they don't check under the beds.. Since I check under multiple beds on a weekly basis for all the hotels I stay at for work, sure, there usually are crumbs or the occasional bottle cap under the bed. It's not vacuumed and that's fine cause it would be hugely inconvenient for house keeping to have to do this to every room, every day. However, a simple peek under the bed should be done. Especially when the room smells weird. Also, parents, it would be difficult for the diaper to accidentally end up there so please don't do this to fellow guests.. The room was decent otherwise. The sheets were clean and everything was tidy. There was a little bit of sauce on the desk that wasn't wiped from the prior guests but everything else was fine. read more

The beds at this hotels are like sleeping on a cloud. The sheets are also super soft and not itchy or scratchy. The lighting in this bathroom make everything look better and perfect for putting on your makeup. Shower pressure is perfect and the towels are plus. You can't hear the doors slamming at night or early in the morning. Location is great for the airport but also it's got balcony's for a nice view of the water while you sip your coffee. Speaking of coffee ; the machine doesn't have a outlet plug behind the pullout drawer so you have to take it out and put it on top of the counter. They do provide bottle waters for the coffee. This place is in a great location. It's a somewhat older property, a little outdated but still nice but I was told they were doing renovations. Conveniently by the airport, Liberty Station and other areas. This is the second time I've stayed here. Both times I've been in the Marina Tower. If you get a room with a view of the bay, from your lanai (patio) you see beautiful views of the water and boats and the sunset. There is also a place nearby to rent a Kayak or paddle board. If you like walking, biking or jogging this area is great for getting lots of fresh air. They do charge a resort fee and $45 if you park on the property. There is limited parking nearby outside so good luck. read more

I've seen a lot of bad reviews on this place and I was kind of nervous NGL!! But we had a really good experience here from check in to check out! The room was clean not like the photos I saw on other posts, I'm guessing I was in the newer tower idk? But the view of downtown at night with the planes landing at the airport was pretty dope as we were on the 9th floor. The main pool was nice and big and it had a big jacuzzi and some games for the kids like a giant jenga and corn hole. They had nightly s'mores making for the kids. Oh and pool closes at 10pm. It's nice here cause your pretty far from the craziness of downtown but get the views of it. There's a jet ski rental literally on the property which real fun! We didn't eat at the hotel but there is a Starbucks inside so that was convenient! And the gym is dope with a lot of machines and 2 peloton bikes. I'd definitely coming back!! read more

I think some of these reviews has been corrected as my experience was top notch! 45$ for self parking. The problem is I don't think you can go in and out of the parking area. The staff at front desk LaToya was very helpful, and got me situated in a very fast time manner. Rooms were nice and beds were a little too soft but comfortable . The views was spot on, and there is a balcony view which is the best! Also tinted slide door to go in and out easier, and super tinted so that was perfect. There is a 200$ deposit for the rooms, but that's normal. There is a higher fee surcharge for this hotel as they offer yoga classes and bike rentals and even a one hour complimentary paddle board lesson. Amazing! Highly recommend this place, my only complaint was i think there is one staff working the whole floor for room service and guest services (I wonder why they don't just join teams) so it took 20-30 minutes for two towels. read more

I'd give the views of this hotel 5 stars, but sadly, we were underwhelmed with our stay. My husband and I are Marriott Bonvoy Elite members and visit many Marriott/ Sheraton hotels throughout the year. We had such high hopes for this hotel. The atmosphere is very hectic but understandable, as it is a prime location. However, I feel many areas were understaffed. My husband was really anticipating trying out the Ale House, but it was under construction to become Quinns Shore House. I wish the website indicated that it was going to be closed. We had checked the website every day prior to our trip to study the menu, but there was no mention it was closed for a revamp. Since we were staying multiple days, we had to make other dining arrangements. We did eat at the hotel one day, and at Tom Ham the other day. I was really looking forward to the steak at the Ale House. The restaurant in the lobby featured many of the Ale House's menu items, but the steak was not available. The lobby bar area was also overwhelming. Since there was no Ale House available, everyone had to order drinks from the bar in the lobby. The line was outrageous, and with only 2 bartenders, you can tell they were overwhelmed. One night, we ended up just buying bottles of wine from the hotel market. The pools are absolutely beautiful. I think the Shoreline Cantina was the best part of our trip. The views are stunning and the tacos were phenomenal. However, we did have a mishap. It is our fault, but very disappointing. Our first day we had some sealed adult beverages in our beach bag. We walked over to the cantina to order food. We were away less than 5 minutes. When we came back to our seats, our drinks were gone, but everything else was still there. Our towels, sun screen, beach bag, everything except $60 worth of drinks. It's definitely a bummer, and we have never experienced anything like that at any resort. As a heads up, please always keep your eye on ALL your belongings. Last but not least, we asked for our room to not be near an elevator or ice machine. It was near an ice machine. As busy as this place was, we just kept the room and rolled with the punches. The property is aged but the reviews here do not align with my experience and I've stayed here 25+ times for both work and leisure. Recently my wife and I booked a 3-day weekend for our anniversary and stayed in the secondary marina tower, disconnected from the main property. The room was okay, it was clean and service was good, it's always good when we stay here. But the views are something special. Views overlook the bay and you can see all the way to the Coronado bridge on a clear morning. We saw dolphins, small shark and more in our short stay. It's a 5 min drive into downtown for a nice meal and it tends to be quiet and peaceful for walks and exercise in the area. We give it a 4 star because the hotel needs a remodel and parking fee's are wild nowadays at nearly $50 a day, but the staff deserve a 5 star review, we had breakfast on the first floor restaurant each morning and enjoyed the nice chatter we had with our servers each morning. This place sits in a beautiful property. The views from the hotel are pretty much Sunrise to Sunset. I do not think you can have a bad view from the 5th floor up. It's located in a little island so you have views of the water from both towers and on either side. Pros Self-parking available and valet parking. Pleasantly surprised! We were expecting to experience what the negative reviews noted but we didn't have any issues. We stayed on the 7th floor with a great view of the marina and swimming pool below. The room fresh and well appointed. The bed was comfortable and the abundance of good pillows was a plus. Complimentary water and ample Kuerig pods was welcomed. Check in was a breeze at 2pm. No lines and pleasant staff. Poolside drinks are creative and done well, strong enough but not silly. Decent selection of eats. The tacos are ok, nothing to brag about but not bad either. Regular resort hotel prices so don't expect a bargain. Most cocktails are around $14 as are the wine choices. Food was around $20 per entree. Overall spending time at the large pool with tasty drinks was enjoyable. The only small hiccup was our room wasn't made up even though the front desk made a point of asking if we wanted daily cleaning. No problem getting more water and coffee from the floor staff. It sounded convenient to park here and take the shuttle to the airport, but beware! If you have a late flight and are waiting to get on the shuttle, their airline customers take priority over you! We had to wait an excessive amount of time to get on a shuttle because the Southwest Airlines crews kept taking all the spots on the shuttle. We were told by the driver we had to wait. Glad to not be a priority! I would have walked if it wasn't for having young sleepy children. You'd think that would have been a sign to let us on the shuttle, but nope! read more

Can't wait to go back again!!! My friend and I had an incredible mini getaway with the perfect view of the marina... The gals working at the front desk especially Itza, were very nice and helpful & housekeeping was very nice too...We had issues when we wanted to rent our bikes however the shuttle bus drivers truly made up for it when they dropped us off and picked us up from the beach (the hotel provides free beach chairs)...The rooms have a nice size fridge so you can keep your drinks and snacks inside of it...We had a balcony and a breathtaking view of the Marina that we utilized a couple of times each day!!! There's a little market inside the lobby that has Starbucks coffee, limited food, souvenirs and etc but their customer service can use some polish. Parking is $41 a day so I highly recommend you park right across the street next to the Police station for $10 a day since it's so close to the hotel, and it's ridiculous to pay $41 a day for parking on top of the $27 a day resort fee.. read more

15/10. Absolutely above and beyond staff from the front desk to the service helpers was phenomenal. The pool attendants were so sweet but a couple stood out to me. First, Melissa working 8/1/25 from about 5 p.m was gave outstanding and exceptional service. Another young lady wore multiple hats also a pool side assistant on 8/2/25 was very diligent and always had a smile on her face. Every ounce of our experience was beyond exroudinary. So accommodating, so relaxed and lenient. My phenomenal experience will definitely have me coming back. Thank you to all the staff working at this establishment and to the owner of this hotel for knowing how to run a business that people can love and respect, please don't ever change. Thank you for making this trip unforgettable. If you have kids, they will love this place. There are so many activities that come with the experience of the hotel such as paddle boarding, bike riding, yoga, sound baths, fire pits, heated pool with movie night and smores by the pool. Put it this way, the trip was for legoland but we ended up only staying in legoland for 3 hours before my son requested that he wanted to go back to the hotel. The hotel was better than the planned destination. The hotel is that great. You won't want to stay anywhere else. I stayed here overnight, and was pleased with the level of service and accommodations offered by hotel staff. We arrived very early, several hours before the normal check in time and the staff was able to get us into a room very quickly. Additionally, they upgraded the room at no additional cost. This place is beautiful. San Diego is beautiful, this place offers so many free activities. The rooms all have balcony and the property is gorgeous. The beds are comfy, they have different pillow textures. The bathroom has great toiletries and the Market downstairs is huge. There are several pools and a huge waterfall in the front. They have shuttles to and from the Airport. The staff is so nice and greetedly me nicely. I saw something so cool, there was a Spanish family checking in and the clerk didn't speak Spanish and he was google translating with them to help check them in. The fire pit outside it great at night to keep warm and enjoy a coffee or cocktail. Staff is friendly and attentive. Please, view the pictures. Everything was perfect except my room, which is, of course, the main reason most people go to a hotel. Yes, it was clean and the tv functioned, so it met the bare minimum of basic expectations (2 stars). I've stayed here numerous times for Comic Con, where everyone pre-pays the same price 9 months prior to visiting. The rooms have (well, not the Lanai) a gorgeous view and fresh air to inhale the crisp San Diego morning air. See pictures below of my room with a view of either a freeway, white wall, or piles of bugs. Since the door to the supposed "balcony/patio" didn't open and there are no windows, we were trapped with stale air. A worker came to fix the door, but politely informed us "sorry, the wheels have been broken on this door a long time." And, anyone could just walk up to the door; no privacy let alone safety. After spending $2000+ on room, parking, Wifi, and hotel food, I was offered $100 credit (less than 5% discount). I wait all year for this vacation. I'm here two more miserable days. read more

The hotel was nice. I had a few hospitality complaints about this place. One of them was that they only had one bartender so if you wanted to drink you basically had to wait 20 minutes each drink so you would get out of the pool walk over there and sit there and wait cause they only had one person working the bar. At the prices that we are paying down there, you think that they would have more than one bartender and be keeping people happy. My other complaint was that every time I left the hotel and came back they had a person out front standing at the intersection, and there was always somebody stopped part there talking to, the guy asking simple questions. The only problem with that was that he would back up traffic so that the light would be green and then you would get halfway through the intersection and then he would be talking to people while the light turned red on you. I was coming and going a lot since I have a boat in the slip, and I was running people back-and-forth from the hotel to the boat slip. Every single time this guy is talking to people and stopping traffic in the middle of the intersection. They made it very inconvenient and almost caused car accidents. read more

In the recently remodeled north tower of the main hotel, all rooms have a balcony, small fridge, and super comfortable beds. The bathroom, though small contain a large walk-in shower. There are many restaurants onsite, a gym, and plenty of outdoor seating spaces. read more
