They are always very friendly and helpful. We have used them since my son started 6th grade band. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Stopped for the first time with my young son who's getting into music, drums and guitar. He needed some supplies for both and wanted to give them a try. From the moment we walked in I was impressed. Everyone working there greeted us with a warm hello and smile and I was overjoyed to see not only the staff, but even other patrons there show us, especially my son kindness and compassion as he gets started down this path. We can't wait to go back and have "mom" experience the joy this shop exudes. read more

Visted and have found my go-to shop, even if it is 70 miles from Fairfax. Upon our entry, we were immediately greeted by the staff, who welcomed us and after a short chat left us to browse. They are not a huge store, but for their size it is really perfect. Their acoustic room is sealed from the rest of the room with a sub-section of higher end offerings. On the floor they actually had a few electric upright basses, which were set up well. We interacted with the brothers, who were both personal and friendly, answering all our questions. Before we left, we interacted with a very kind female employee who could not have been better. Since then, I have corresponded with them via Instagram and email and received rapid responses. We will return for sure! read more

These guys kick all sorts of butt. Knowledgeable, and always willing to answer and questions and recommendations. If they don't have it, it can be ordered. Forget Guitar Center, support local businesses read more

I put off reviewing this place since I haven't actually bought anything there. But this might be even better.. I came across them when walking around the pedestrian zone and I needed to find a bathroom. They were very helpful in giving me directions. And I enjoyed looking around in the store. I don't live nearby so this is not a place I can visit often. read more

Went in one day and spoke with Jason. Super nice guy. Very friendly and knowledgeable. I appreciated the way he allowed me to check out their shop and offered assistance without being overbearing. They have a nice selection of acoustic guitars and I was able to pick up a few and try them out. I bought a bag of picks and a new set of strings and the experience was top notch. Give these folks a try. You won't be sorry. read more

Shenandoah Music - Goodie bag. - Guitar Stores Near Me - Winchester, Virginia

Oh mylanta! Wow wow wow. Take my money!!! Haha. My Ukulele shopping experience up until today: I'm so very happy someone mentioned this shop to me last night. We stopped here with zero expectations because I've looked at a lot of shops all over Kansas and Colorado and it seems like I can't find a good selection of ukuleles to compare anywhere. I thought I'd have to just buy something online and hope it sounded good. Yes, I know we are in Virginia! And I'm VERY happy for it. My thoughts of this shop after my experience here: Here they have a great range from soprano to bass ukuleles, and even a banjolele! They are very good quality and it was great to be able to compare the Koa, Ebony, and Ziricote woods all together. Each have their own unique sound, and are stunning. I ended up buying the Kala Ebony Tenor because of the sound and feel. It fits me perfectly. I've looked at all of these online for a long time, and I was going to order the Ziricote. It is beautiful, however I'm really thankful I was able to hear them side by side. Im in love with my new Ebony Ukulele (#3!) and I can't wait to get home and use it. Customer service: Priceless. Matt is the owner and an amazing guy. He took the time to make sure we felt comfortable and had what we needed to try out ALL of the ukuleles that I wanted. He took the time to explain some things about the brands of strings that I didn't know before, even taught me a new strumming pattern. I wanted to get a nice capo, and he also shared the differences so that I got the one that fit my playing style and instrument best. I wish I could have walked out of there with the Banjolele and a concert as well, but I'll have to save my pennies and come back. Prices: They have GREAT prices. Same or better than online, PLUS you get to try before you buy, and you can compare! Customer service is also a huge value. You might be like me and end up buying a different one than you expected. Happy shopping! Do yourself a favor and #buyhere To the owner, Matt: Thank you so very much for an amazing experience today. Next time I'm nearby visiting my buddies in Martinsburg, WV I'll swing by here again. read more

Today was the first time I talked to anyone from Shenandoah music I was very surprised at how fast they responded to every question that's awesome read more

Decided to start playing guitar and took the used one in I had purchased to be looked at for any issues. The staff member actually took at least 10 minutes going over my guitar and talking to me about what I want to get from playing. Can't believe a business would take the time to help me out with something I didn't purchase from them. Needless to say I had them restring it and tune everything up. They have earned my business. Now I am taking guitar lessons there. Please support this business as you don't find this service anymore. Nice selection and very friendly place! read more

I was looking to buy a guitar. I knew that I wanted to buy the best guitar for me. That meant shopping. I went to Maryland, West Virginia, and Virginia. Some places were a little less than friendly but not Shenandoah Music. I made several trips there - each time they were patient and helpful. I finally purchased one (after playing many) because it was the best guitar for me but also because of their service. They were beyond helpful and not pushy at all. They let me take my time. I can't recommend this shop enough. The crew there is great! They know guitars and are willing to share information, let you play them, and then make a decision on your own. Long live Shenandoah Music! read more

The boys always either have what I need or know where I need to go to get it done. Great crew. Very knowledgeable. Very helpful

Awesome music store. The staff is really helpful and they have a good selection of inventory, and if it's not there, they can order it. The acoustic room alone is worth a visit to experience. I always believed in supporting local business, and will always be a customer here. read more

Outstanding shop. Great inventory and incredibly helpful staff. The other local shops aren't bad, but Shenandoah still manages to blow them away. read more

Very nice and helpful people. I only needed a few small things and they were happy to assist. Thanks guys!

Great people! We are kinda new to the area and stopped in one day. Now it's a frequent visit for me and the kids. They take the time to explain things to us newbies. You can tell they are passionate about music as well which is awesome. So, in short, great place. read more

Renter beware, they love to tack on hidden fees when you turn in the instrument, that arent specificly outlined in the contract. They file it under "abnormal wear and tear" but dont outline what is or ins't considered "normal." For example a minor dent is $20 each. No where does it list this or the price. Bring your credit card when returning your rental. read more
