Ok it's still early doors for this "re imagined" watering hole. Formerly a whether spoons pub and now it's been made into a modern gastro/trendy pub.
It's part of the Antic stable of pubs, they have several around, mainly south, London.
They serve a variety of beers, local brews/craft beers and the such like.
This one is located on a busy high street, that has good transport links and being a former whether spoons you know the location must work, although not sure why it went from being a stick know what you are getting from whether spoons to a trendy pub.
So they have done the refurbishment thing and made the inside trendy, in line with the current trend for gastro pubs. Some exposed brick work, some abstract art on the walls along with a shelf full of old tea cups and condiment jars.
The space internal space is big with lots seating areas, some more comfortable than others, a mix of booths, normal tables and high chairs/high bench seats and tables.
The food, as far as I have experienced is ok, if you sit to the left hand side of the pub(facing the bar as you walk in) you can see the kitchen and staff hard at work, well depending on what time of day you venture in.
The menu has the usual variety, fish, burger, steak and veggie option. I think most will be able to find something to eat and drink in here. They have a good wine list to go alongside the beers and spirits.
Time will tell if it works given where it is based. read more
