After a few serious issues with our previous rental (it's a long story, but to summarize: PLUMBING ISSUES FOR TWO MONTHS), we gave our landlord our 30-day notice to vacate and decided to move to the house LITERALLY across the street (the timing of them opening up for rent was impeccable). We seriously couldn't live on that property anymore. However, with this sudden move, our options for movers was severely limited. Most professional/trustworthy movers are hesitant to help anyone that requires help within such a small time frame (we didn't have 30 days to move... due to complications with the property we were going to be moving into, we only had a 10-day time-frame!)... And worst of all: we were moving LITERALLY RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET. A majority of professional/ trustworthy movers have a mileage-minimum to ensure that the job is worthwhile. A lot of independent workers had given us pretty tempting offers for help in this move, but Emilio's Moving set themselves apart from the independents and the larger companies for one thing and one thing alone: Responsiveness. Where most companies took days (in some cases: AN ENTIRE WEEK) to get back to us for a quote: Emilio contacted us WITHIN THE HOUR. They were polite, professional, transparent about their costs and schedule, and let us know ahead of time that their work with us would be a squeeze (they were handling several large moves at the time and we would be crammed between them due to our timeframe). With every response we sent, they responded back within an hour or two. They were even willing to negotiate with us on the pricing: we were planning on moving all of the boxes, and only required help for large furniture. Emilio gave us a generous discount for the lessened difficulty of the move, so long as they could complete it within 1 hr and 40 min... We agreed on it. On the day of the move, one of the workers had arrived 10 minutes early to talk with us and scout out the furniture that needed moving, and the rest of the workers arrived RIGHT ON TIME. They moved all of our furniture across the street quickly, carefully, and methodically. They never dilly-dallied, they never took unnecessary breaks, they never let the furniture touch a ground/wall until they reached their destination, and they would triple/quadruple-team on the more complicated turns/rotations to ensure our furniture never got damaged. There were no scratches, no scuffs, no dents, no bends, and no wasted time. They completed our work perfectly while remaining well below that estimated 1 hr 40 min! I'm sure most people who've worked with movers can say that this sort of care, efficiency, and honoring of agreements is RARE these days. Emilio's Moving did a fantastic and wonderful job for our move! Their excellent communication, transparency, understanding, professionalism, and overall helpfulness cannot be overstated! And here comes the fraudulent part....my husband selected to pay the upgraded protection coverage that would cover the depreciated value up to $5000 of anything broken that was less than $1000 per pound. That was done the day we hired them. When they had my husband sign the iPad the day of the move showing that it had been completed, THEY had downgraded the protection plan but did not inform my husband of this. Therefore, they said they'll cover .60 per pound of the tv because we didn't get the upgraded plan! BUT WE DID!!! My husband and I are both livid and disgusted by the situation. What a slap in the face. If you break something while moving it, then you should pay for it...end of story. But $175 for a brand new $1500 television?!?! Moving is expensive enough, but now I've had to buy a new jewelry box and we have to buy a new television. And we have received no compensation for the tv, by the way. DISGUSTING.... I hired this company because I needed help with a full move, including packing and assembly. My quote was around $2,900 and included services that were not actually completed. They did not pack my home as expected, leaving me to continue packing during the move, and despite those services not being done, the final cost ended up being even higher than the original quote. In addition, the move was delayed by a day and a half. On the morning I was expecting them, I was actively communicating with someone managing the move and had already provided my gate code. He later claimed I missed a call from headquarters, but I was under the impression that I was already speaking with the appropriate contact. Despite being present and in communication, I was not moved that day. I was also told they were closed on Sundays, which was not accurate, and I was unable to get additional boxes when I needed them. I had clearly communicated that I needed the remaining items packed, but that was not done. The move itself became chaotic. Their truck broke down, the move dragged on for hours, and my belongings did not arrive at my new home until around 9:00 PM. The movers were at my home until approximately midnight, and after all of those hours and the amount of money I paid, my home was still not livable. Nothing was assembled or set up in a way that allowed my family to even sleep there that night. Instead of being able to settle into our home after a professional move, I was left in the middle of the night trying to figure out where my children and I could sleep because the house was not functional or safe to stay in. Boxes and furniture were placed in ways that blocked hallways and access through the house, with heavy items stacked on fragile ones. Items were placed randomly instead of in organized rooms, leaving me unable to find what I needed, and the garage was filled to the point that I could barely function in my own home. All boxes were labeled as well. One of the biggest reasons this was so upsetting is that my daughter was recovering from ACL and meniscus surgery. I specifically needed this move handled professionally so we could have a safe, accessible living space, but instead we were left navigating around piles of belongings and blocked areas. Assembly was also supposed to be part of the service, but it was not completed as expected. Beds and other necessary pieces were not put together, leaving us without the basic setup we needed after a major move. Because so much was left unfinished and disorganized, it took me three separate trips and extra help to complete my move. It was a total of six hours driving time back-and-forth, but that doesn't count loading the cars and finishing a move by myself, and it caused me to miss two full days of work. I understand that unexpected problems can happen during a move, but what matters is how a company responds. After explaining everything that occurred, I was told they would not provide compensation or a refund adjustment, despite the incomplete services and the condition my home was left in. This was not simply a move that "didn't go perfectly." I paid a significant amount of money for a professional service so my family could transition safely into our new home, and instead I was left overwhelmed, physically exhausted, and still dealing with the aftermath. I reached out to the company and they refused to take any responsibility or compensate me for services i did not received and making this one of the most stressful experiences i have ever had moving. as a solo mom with an injured daughter and two small children, it will take me weeks of not months to get things livable.

From the moment our men stepped foot onto your property you treated them inhumane and was emotionally and verbally abusive to them. YOUR cameras caught the interactions of you verbally abusing them from your garage. As any human, they noticed your anger escalated quickly and they attempted to de-escalate the situation by leaving and keeping you and themselves safe. You refused to allow them to leave which was holding them hostage. The "camera footage" was reviewed and the case was dismissed because nobody assaulted you. The job was paid for by another person who specifically wanted you off of his property and PAID for the job and told them not to give you the keys to the u-haul. Again, he paid for the job and the u-haul. This job was NOT paid for by you, but someone EVICTING you. I would like to address a few other things. You home was filthy, unsafe, and a serious hazard to our men. Your items were cheaply made and you had a dresser that you taped shut for them to try to move, which they informed you would not hold up. The Gatorade bottle that said mike? We don't have an employee named Mike, so try again on that one. As for accusing our men of being a predator, that is slander. None of our men have a criminal background of pedophilia. I can assure you we have moved thousands of people and our men being fathers themselves, would always insure the safety of children. As for your stolen medication? I don't think was stolen at all, but probably all taken by you which would point out your complete irrationally behavior. The truck delivered the 28 ft trailer on time, we filled to the brim and called to have it picked up and there were right there the next day. It took almost two weeks to get our stuff delivered.. perfect. The guys that dropped of and picked up couldn't have been nicer. Price was good too. We have used other movers and we got scammed.. I would never ever use anyone else but Upack. We also used one of their Cubes to move one of our kids and that was also a perfect move. You can't go wrong with this company.
