Adrienne and I had friction almost immediately because she misrepresented her availability ( she wasn't available for a month) and refused to create a written design for the living room. It wasn't "how she worked". Another source of friction was her trade discount. She told me that she had discounts through Houzz, but she did not participate in retail trade programs and these discounts can be substantial. Through a rental business, I had access to multiple discount programs. This meant I did all the ordering, tracking and scheduling. Adrienne did not have access to "trade only" distributors in NC at all. So, I am stuck with a cheap, way too small rug for my living room, cheap looking light fixtures. She checked out half way through. My husband and I reviewed the contract after a month of working with her. The bottom line was that we should have insisted on a smaller initial payment. Instead, I tried to trudge through and now have to hire another designer. She did not have any contractors! She used the wallpaper installer that I found for a family member! Nothing was easy with her. At our first meeting, she bragged about her "Northeast work ethic". My husband still jokes out that. HARD lesson learned.

What they did not do right: TERRIBLE communication. Times, dates, people; all was a guess. But the worst was the add on costs! The owner/manager (not sure) says one thing, then charges another. Repairs she said she was going to take of; she didn't. Her quote was about $7000 under what she actually charged. Her workers broke a few items, threw away a gift from my mom, and left the house a total mess after doing the kitchen and bedroom painting. There was never a walk through to make sure I was happy and the worst part? Our closing could not happen until we agreed to pay the full amount. The staging furniture was dirty and looked like it came from IKEA, however the workers were professional and polite. Definitely do not recommend this company! Or if you do use them, INSIST on a true solid quote after the softball they give you initially and INSIST on clear language. Live and learn:(
