Shellback plumbing, and their point person, David, did an OUTSTANDING job fixing a plumbing line broken in multiple places in the slab in my home. Shellback brought out multiple teams to diagnose the problem. They used a step -by-step by process to fix the problem with as little cost to me as possible. Each team arrived on time, all were polite and considerate, and all had specialized knowledge and equipment. There were multiple unexpected issues. Ultimately my slab had to be jack hammered and a new pipe was slid into place. It involved a tremendous amount of hard physical work and specialized equipment. Unhappy that we were charged twice for a noisy toilet bowl because the plumber didn't check the job the first time. Paid $125, and then $75.

Neil was great! So kind and conscientious in his work. I had a new toilet installed which needed a new flange and bracket. He cleaned up afterwards so well that I couldn't tell he had even been here. I told Gary that I would recommend him when I could. My moms bathroom had a problem and Gary sent one of his guys to La Crescenta to fix it. His guy was on time and fixed the toilet without an issue. When he was leaving he thought he smelled gas in the laundry room and found a gas leak behind the dryer. He went and got the part needed and fixed a leak that no one knew was there. I called Shellback plumbing, our water pressure was surging high and low. The service tech that came out to my home was Gary, he was very friendly, he did a couple test and determined it was the pressure regulator. The repair was completed and was done very clean. These guys are great! Very knowledgeable and professional. I was referred to them through my home warranty, Fidelity (also fabulous!), a few months ago when I had a leak in my very old hot water heater. Donavon came out in the dark (it was dark by 5 pm then) and replaced the hot water heater and fixed things to bring it up to code. It had been previously installed dangerously and illegally! In fact, another company wouldn't even work on it but Shellback hooked it up! Thanks Gary and Donovan! A few weeks ago I had family in town and a pipe burst in my only bathroom. Gary worked around my crazy schedule to get Byron to my house to fix the emergency. My house and pipes are very old (1939) and difficult and delicate to work on. Byron had the patience and knowledge to replace the broken pipes and explained to us how he had to go very slowly and carefully. Because of his experience, he was able to fix the problems without cutting into the wall or causing further damage! Gary the owner of Shellback, sent me a message to contact him after I placed a request for an estimate. Gary was able to quickly fit us into his company's schedule less than a day later. He provided a verbal estimate based on the project of things we needed done; while being upfront the estimate could change based on a need for parts, etc. That's fair and honest to say. As a customer, I agree that is always a possibility on many projects. His employee David came to our home to do the work. David was polite, professional, and honest about the cost of the project (it still beat a quote we had received from another company). David did an outstanding job. His work was clean and his workmanship showed. We did a few more things on top of the original project; it was well worth it. There is no question we will re-hire Shellback to do any future plumbing or related installation work. We had an issue with another plumber company, after a clog, and a rooter less than 2 months ago, (is that what you call it? I don't know lol) the sink trap (I think that is what it was called?) fell out! It completely dropped out, no breaks, nothing and they were going to charge way too much money, just to come look at an error that they made, not even a free estimate! We looked at reviews and chose Shellback, they fixed the issue at a great price. (hundred's less than the company that created the problem in the first place quoted) The plumber from Shellback adjusted the fittings, replaced what needed to be replaced, so we wouldn't encounter the same issues again. I recently had Shellback Plumbing come out as a second opinion on a home warranty claim. I needed to get a clean got installed in order to fix the drainage issue (toilets backing up into the shower). They installed the clean out for me, which required some digging through my landscape. Shellback put the landscaping back perfectly! Can't even tell it had to be moved. After the clean out was installed they scoped the drain line and there was a definite need for hydrojetting to clean out 60 years of deposits in the drain pipe. The hydrojetting fixed the issue I was having and I have had not further issues since! I am very happy with them, their service and their follow-up and I am adding them to my preferred vendor list for my real estate clients too! I felt that they were honest and upfront about their pricing, unlike the first vendor who quoted a very wide range depending on how "difficult" it got (and we all know the first vendor would have found something "difficult enough" to raise the price). With Shellback when you agreed to their reasonable price, that's what you paid. read more

Dated was awesome! We had a new tankless water heater installed by shellback plumbing about six months ago. My neighbor noticed them leaking so I called them up and they came out right away and it turned out to be condensation and he ran a PVC pipe away from the unit and our house so as not to create any problems with our foundation. He also showed me on the heater how I can increase the temperature and it recommended replacing the regulator to our main so as not to create too many problems with pressure on our line. My home warranty assigned me Shellback Plumbing to come out and fix an issue with the pilot light in my water heater. They were responsive and fast. Although I do have to share my story because it was frustrating. The first guy that came out had to order a part for the water heater, he was nice and polite and seemed to know what he was doing. They got the part super fast. Then a different guy came out to replace the part. That second guy came when I was not home since it's out side my house, and they said I did not need to be there. This guy did not know what he had to fix or what was going on, good thing my boyfriend was walking out the door when he arrived to explain what the first guy told me. I don't hear anything from the company, if the project was completed or there are any issues, next thing I know I get I frantic call from my neighbor on my way home from work that gas was leaking bad out of the water heater and the smell was intense. I immediately call the gas company, they come out shut off my gas and tell me the part was replaced incorrectly and could have caused some major damage to my house if there were any type of sparks. fun times. I call shellback, they were apologetic and they sent someone the next morning to resolve the problem and things are working fine now, I would have given less stars, but they were responsive and fast with the issues, but the fact the part was replaced incorrectly is frustrating. FOLLOW UP: I appreciate Gary's feedback below and added a star from 3 to 4. A refresher workshop for water heaters is a great idea. Our water heater was leaking. We have a home warranty policy. They sent Shellback the request and the tech came out that day. One day later the repair was approved and a new water heater was installed. The tech also noticed a problem with the main water valve. He got on the phone and had a replacement okayed right away. I called 2 minutes before they closed at 9PM on a Tuesday because a pipe exploded in my kitchen. All the other scumbag 24 hour plumbing services (I called three others) flat out said they wouldn't come to my house, despite advertising as 24 hours (scumbags).
