I absolutely do not recommend this place for service! I had an appointment scheduled for 2 PM I arrived on time and the girl at the front desk said that she had someone with her. She then came out and asked what my name was walked away with complete attitude and said is just not my day today. Came back out and said it's going to be about another 15 minutes I told her that I couldn't wait. She said well I'm sorry that's just what happens and walked away. She offered me no alternative time did not apologize for being late and had no consideration or respect for my time. The front desk girl said "she gets like that when she's stressed out". I came in to get a fill and have her correct my terrible oval French full set. She not only changed the shape of the nail from oval to square which looks much better, but she also evened out the crooked and unevenness of the acrylic. We also added a shimmer to the French tip. A Friend purchased a gel manicure for me this Christmas. What should have been a wonderful experience turned into a nightmare of a situation. I was running 15min late to my appointment and kept Java the manicurist apprised of my every move. She did not indicate she was upset and continued to make me feel reassured my tartyness was not a big deal. (In a previous text she even stated her 3pm appt was canceled so we should be good). I walked in and she saw I was holding a Groupon print out and preceded to tell me she did not accept groupons if someone was late and I should leave as she did not have time to do my nails since it's the holiday season and she could have booked someone else. I have never been so disrespected and had someone be so rude to me at a salon. Java is extremely unprofessional. Well done Jave keep up the great work! It's a good way to score new client! I was looking for a while for a manicurist that took her time while doing my nails and did a good job. I found Java from Shellac by the Sea and that is the only place I go to get a gel manicure. All her products are new so they stay really well on the nail bed and come of easily so do not ruin the nail. She has crazy fun glitter and foils for those that like to get a little crazy with their nail designs. Prices are fair and she is a sweetheart. read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Worst experience ever! I was ten minutes late and she wouldn't take me in... I drove 45 minutes in traffic to get there. 1 1/2 hours wasted!!! Apparently she gives 45 minutes towards each gel mani and 35 minutes would not be enough time... you should give each customer at least an hour on a gel mani... On top of that, she mentioned, "that is why she doesn't normally take Groupons on Sundays"... I don't get how having a Groupon changes anything. To make matters worst, she gave me attitude and told me that I could get a refund on the Groupon. WTH is wrong with her... has she heard of customer service. My dad is in the beauty industry(hair stylist), he would never talk to a customer like that. He always accommodates his customers... well, lesson learned.
