I spent over $1100 to repair issues on my 05 Nissan Altima so smog can pass. Catalytic converter, sensors and what ever else. A month later check engine light back on. They refuse to check the issue and want to charge $85 to diagnose the issue again and that $85 will not apply for what ever repair is needed. Crappy service . read more

Took my car down to have a smog test, they came back to me and said it had to be driven more because the computer didn't get a read on all the systems yet, so I went to get the keys so I could put some miles on it but they insisted I pay $50. Then I said so if I bring it back after driving it how much will it cost when it passes, He said with the certificate it will be $80. I asked him why they would charge if the car was not smog ready - why not charge the residual for the certificate - and they just stone-walled me, In the end I had to pay the $50 to get my keys back. I've been a customer for 25yrs this was the last time I will ever go the the Shell station. Took it to another station just miles away they checked it with a ODB code reader and said it was ready to smog. put it on the smog machine - Passed and a t6otal of $50 for the test and the certificate both. They didn't charge to check if it was ready on the ODB reader.... Never again Shell !!!! read more

Nothing but years of fantastic experiences at this place. I actually go out of my way to get gas here, because the owner Bruce has the most honest and skillful mechanic shop i've ever dealt with. Gas is gas, and shell's is better than others, but this family run business has been here for many years for good reasons - great service, honest people and complete customer satisfaction. I just went to smog my vehicle, because I had a coupon for a great deal. After taking my car back they quickly tell me that they cannot smog my vehicle because I have a check engine light and then proceed to charge me for the cost of my car being smogged!! These people are shady as hell!! I told him I've had a problem with my check engine coming on for years, and that If this was a problem they should have just told me they couldn't smog it, and I shouldn't be charged for work that wasn't done!! I paid them anyway because I don't want trouble, but I'm gonna make sure I tell everybody what they did!! So dishonest. read more

Very disappointed this is my second time here and they tell you 80$ up front. My coolant was messed up and 2 more other issue that they found. He called me and said 235$ I agree he called back and said an extra 35 for another part. I ended up paying 340$ and 160 was just in labor. They charged me 25.99 just for adding coolant to my car and I had a new container in my car that I paid 10$ for. I called him and expressed my concerns the owner told me to call back and talk to the guy that fixed my car and told me not to lose sleep over the money. I called the next morning and after talking to the guy that fixed my car he gave the phone to the owner because he knew something wasn't right. The owner offered to give me 25$ back and I went to get it. He yelled at me saying he was the cheapest in town. I calmly walked to my car and he came outside as well. I left and he called me and left a voicemail saying he didn't mean to make me mad. Ladies keep in mind that the men working on car think you are clueless and will try to add charges to your bill. If I was completely in the wrong he would of never gave me money back after I already paid. I also called ford for check the prices of the parts he purchased and he over charge me for the parts as well. One of the best, HONEST mechanics I've dealt with. Between us and my Mom, we've saved hundreds of dollars on repairs that other places told us were neccesary, but turned out to be something small. For example, got the car smogged, didn't pass and told we needed $300-500 repair someplace else. It turned out that a wire had come loose. We paid for the diagnostic and $1.00 for a new wire! read more

Saturday I went to get my car smogged and was told by Borna that a retest was no charge. Monday I went to retest and the owner, Bruce charged me for the retest and I told him I was told there was no charge for a retest. He gave me a bunch of excuses and still charged me. My car passed smog but the mechanic had my car smoking. The mechanic admitted it broke while he was testing it. It leaked all the coolant and the mechanic drove it up smoking. The mechanic then asked the Bruce if he was going to charge me for it and the owner said yes. Clearly the mechanic asked that because he knew the shop was at fault. They told me that the heater hose clamp broke. They told me I couldn't drive it like that , which I knew and the mechanic drove it back into the shop stall. I had to leave my car there overnight because the mechanics were leaving at the end of their shift. The next morning they show me the part and it's the heater hose connector. It wasn't even what they first said was broken. When they first spoke about repairs the mechanic said it would be a half hour of labor but when they talked to me in the morning they changed and said it would be an hour and a half to fix. By law if something brakes while they have my car in the shop they are responsible to fix it. I guess the law means nothing to this shop. I had my car towed out because I was not going to be overcharged by them again and I didn't want them to break anything else that they would expect me to pay for. I guess because my mom and I went in they seen women and thought we would not know anything. However, I am an educated woman with a Master's degree and I know all about my car. Also while I was there a woman failed an emissions test but because she knew the owner she "somehow" walked out with a passed smog test. I guess that is another law that they feel they do not have to abide by. Hope everyone reads this review so they do not have to go through this. read more
