I walked here to buy a drink while I was waiting for my food to be done at a nearby restaurant. The employee that was working the counter was on his phone the entire transaction. I put my card in to pay for the drink and the card reader didn't work. On every other card reader I've ever used in my life you can put your card in 2-3 times then swipe. The employee wouldn't let this happen, he took it upon himself to keep pressing the cancel button on the key pad whenever the machine wouldn't read the card. After the third try he took the drinks off the counter and said "your card doesn't work". Then did a shooing motion with his hand telling me to leave and continued his phone conversation. I went to the Wawa down the street and bought the same drink and guess what? The card reader worked on the first try like it did at every other store in Stafford this past month. Before you stop here remember there's 10 other gas stations in the area in less than a 5 mile radius that will not treat you like this. I also felt serious racial undertones throughout this interaction, I feel like the only reason the employee grabbed the bag when my card didn't work is because he thought I was going to try and steal it because I was black. read more
