The islands are fairly spacious, but there's not much room to maneuver. The station itself is clean. I went inside the food mart, and the cashier had a friendly sense of humor. Seems to be a lot of customers for a place with lousy ratings. But it has a prime location on the corner of College Ave & Mendocino Ave.

The manager at this store is verbally abusive and hostile. I bought some items at the store and was…read moretold by a prior employee if I wanted to fill my cup with ice, free of charge but if I used their cups there would be a charge. So when I asked them politely to explain the charge on my transaction and explained to him that I used my personal cup per the other employee in the stores recommendation, and asked if there was a way to refund the charge. The manager grew hostile and aggressive towards me. This situation may have been racially charged, which is disappointing. I know that racial tension is high right now due to politics, but how I was treated as a regular consumer was utterly disappointing.

Yes, it's super convenient if you're heading up 101 North towards Santa Rosa. Yes, they tend to be a few cents cheaper per gallon than competing gas stations nearby (but not the members only warehouse store that starts with a "C" about 2 miles up Santa Rosa Avenue - that's the cheapest I know of). Yes; the store is well stocked and probably the closest you'll find to an actual "truck stop" type of place here - both for semi's and for cars alike... But, it's what happens there and the people who work there that make it my favorite. The employees have always been super nice, super happy, and just...chill (?) each time I've been in, with the exception of when they have to deal with the drama of the homeless or druggies in the middle of the night (but that could wear on anyone). There's a few women who work there of whom I've had great conversations with late night (they're tattooed, as am I, so it makes it easy to strike up conversation) - they've always been super friendly to talk to. Sure, it's not the cleanest place, but there are far worse 24/hour gas stations in Santa Rosa and considering this is literally on the freeway- who could ask for more? Just watch out for the large rocks at the entrances and exits and don't cut the corners too short otherwise your car may wind up on top of one of them! - I've seen that happen more than once!

In one of those lanes you can only get three cars deep past the pump and you're in the street. It is a full-time job for someone working here to just direct traffic to the pumps. It's sometimes crowded, but often you can go in and pull right up to a pump. The big minuses are the pump nozzles have the "fillup" levers removed so you have to hold the nozzle while filling. Also, as is true of all Arco stations, They only take cash or debit card (and they charge a fee to use a debit card). I've never had any problem with any of the employees, they seem like reasonably nice folks. I generally put money in their payment Kiosk and only have to go inside to get change if I miscalculate how much gas I needed. I sometimes underfill to get in and out quicker.

Of course I was in a hurry -- I rushed inside to find an uninterested older woman attendant who told me "oh, ya, it does that -- you have to pay through me." I asked why the pump hadn't been repaired and she seemed not interested, and acted like this news was standard for the level of service you get here. I prepaid for the gas, when to pump and my particular pump kept shutting off while pumping. UGHHRRR. I will NEVER come here again. Horrible station.

The pumps accept debit cards and ARCO Pump Pass gift cards (which are not refillable). I won't use a debit or credit card in any pump, so I buy a couple of ARCO PP cards when i buy groceries at the supermarket. Inside, you can pay with cash, credit or debit. I don't buy anything but gas here so I cannot speak to the food and beverage selections, freshness, etc. Staff are quiet but pleasant when interacting with them. Facility and store are adequately maintained.
