Not as giant as some other competitors, but Pilot Travel center provides all the items a traveler…read morecould need on their travels for a road trip. Everything from food to gas to gifts are covered here with a fairly nice selection for everything. This is particularly true of coffee and other beverage options which cover everything from frozen drinks to an impressive amount of flavored coffees. For goods like chips, soda, beef jerky, etc. there's also a better than average selection at fairly reasonable prices. I also like how the gas pumps were pretty good here and there was plenty of spacing between each station. With several options for filling up gas off the highway, the size and setup of this Travel Center makes it one of my preferred options.

Without a doubt, they have really changed my perception of what a travel stop should look like, providing a great alternative to the Illinois Travel Oasises which seem to be dwindling in number. The gas always pumps quickly with easy to use reward programs, the restrooms are always well stocked and clean, there's plenty of souveniers to buy, and I'm surprised at the massive amount of snack and especially drink options that are available. In addition, the massive amount of parking space makes it a great place to hangout if you need to take a rest.

Now that it is reopened or changed affiliation, I should probably give it another shot but, my motivation to do so will elevate when I see the gas prices are comparable to the other previously mentioned stations. This 2 star rating pertains more to their corner location, a co-existing small McD operation, ease of access and an on-site basic car wash which are pulses while higher gas prices are a huge negative.
