AVOID AT ANY COST !!!!! RIPOFFS I DECIDED TO GET MY INSPECTION DONE HERE FOR MY 2004 Mercedes CLk 500 about 2 months ago. During the inspection , the mechanic tells me your light bulb is low. I said no problem, I'll get it fixed. He said no this won't pass the inspection then, mind you I had no pop up light or anything on my dash . It was just low not bad. I ended up paying $102.17. They charged me 60 dollars to replace the bulb. I was like whatever , I know I got ripped off and never again. Fast forward to today , mu driver side headlight went off and I called them. They have the best iced coffee( surprise, surprise) in either the Mocha or French Vanilla flavors. A buddy had his mother's car repaired here. Very honest and straight up with no " Oh when I opened up the hood and really looked I found that you have to also take care of X, Y and Z and it will run you an extra $450!" After we got a quote from another shop, we stopped by here with the car to see how much this shop would charge to replace the exhaust. The guys at the shop said they would need to take a look underneath, so they put the car up on the lift for 5 minutes. They then gave us a quote and asked for $40. When we asked why he didn't disclose the cost upfront (because we would have just left, as we had no cash on us), he went on to insult us and hold our car hostage by not returning the keys. There was no discussion of a fee for a quote before this and no signs anywhere mentioning this either. Then he told us that he will charge an extra $30 to hold the car overnight if we didn't come back to pick up the car the same night (shop was closing in 15 minutes and again, didn't have cash). Even after we borrowed money from a friend and we paid the $40, he refused to give us a receipt. Some real shady business here. I understand that mechanic shops get paid per job, and not all will be willing to give a free quote. But if you're going to charge, you disclose up front. There's a reason why this place has one star here and on google (reviews related to the auto shop and not the gas station). Do yourself a favor and don't go here. read more

Would not buy an air freshener from these guys. Tried to take advantage of my mother when she brought her car in for inspection. Told her she needed three high ticket items including work on a power steering pump that was replaced 6 month's ago. She called me for advice and I told her to get out of there and I will take care of it. Went to a local competitor a few days later and left with an inspection sticker with no maintenance necessary. Look for local competitors for my 5 star review of them. Reminder: Stay away from these guys. read more

I went to get a flat tire fixed and the guy charged me close to $70 by doing additional work and didn't even inform me of doing anything before hand. Singh and Sons Auto Repair took out a full-page ad in a local newspaper with an ad that read $14.95 for an oil change. With a reasonable price like that I decided to give them a try. Shell gas station at 650 Hillside Avenue in New Hyde Park. I showed up with the ad and the employee remarked, "I think this ad just expired." Today (9/2) was the last day. How could you not know when your full-page ad with coupons expires? The mechanic found something "wrong" with the car, which, coming in with a coupon for an oil change, was entirely expected (my tires are fine). It's the nature of the business. I was in and out in 30 minutes, and the manager thanked me for the business, This is a family-run operation. Customer service is a bit lacking (they claim to be open 24-hours/day, but I had called for four days to find out when I could bring my car in for an oil change, and staff only picked up the phone once). They likely leave the pumps running for 24 hours for people that choose to use credit to pay for gas (for now it's the same price, cash or credit). If they offer deals down the road, I would return. read more
