In the search for diesel fuel, I often find it amusing to drive around a filling station several times, looking for the one, single, solitary diesel pump. This time, it was easy, and not much fun at all. On GasBuddy, they said $3.099 and the pump indicated $3.199, which isn't entirely surprising. As I started, the pump asked if I had a rewards card, which I didn't. I selected debit card. I had hoped that the price might change but it did not. It told me to wait several times. It did not clear the previous purchase. Finally, it told me to push the Start button. There was no Start button, though. There was no "Diesel" button to press. I needed to lift the lever that held the pump handle. After that, I filled the tank, and it asked if I wanted a receipt. When I pressed the "Yes" button, it told me to see the cashier. When I went indoors, the cashier told me that she would be right with me. Then, I saw someone over by my car, and I had some of my windows open. The cashier came to the register, and saw my concern and asked. She told me that the person was a regular. I saw later that he was collecting cans. Then, the cashier printed my receipt. It really could have been better experience. The cashier was friendly, and considerate. It was surprising that it was a filling station with two repair bays in use, just like the 1960s. read more

Terrible customer service. Swiped my card at pump 3 to find the screen doesn't work. So I pressed "clear," then went inside. An older middle eastern man stood up at the register, I told him I wanted $40 on pump 3. He said "did you slide your card outside?" I explained to him that I did, but that his screen didn't work. He told me I needed to press "cancel". So I go outside and look at the pump, there's no "cancel," just "clear." I go back in and end up having a back and forth argument with the man trying to explain there is no "cancel." In the end, the lightbulb went on in his head then he charged me $20, not the $40 I had originally asked for. Exasperated, I quit, I said "that's fine," got my gas and left. Don't bother. read more

If you are considering taking your car here for a smog check, you might want to re-think it. My daughter and I had the worst customer service experience of our lives. We called tahead o confirm pricing (including certification) and were quoted $40.00 out the door. After messing up our appointment and taking other cars ahead of ours (making us late back to work), they rang us up for $54.00 each. We attempted to discuss with him that we have coupons and called ahead to confirm, and he started yelling at us, saying "everone has coupons, I have a stack of coupons here" then he slammed a stack of coupons down on the counter. Every time we opened our mouth to speak he spoke over us. I'm not sure if he uses this bullying tactic only with women, but my personal assessment is that he is a lying=swindling-brow-beating opportunist. As an additional footnote, after all this happened and I posted it on Yelp and Facebook, I discovered many others have had similar instances with this particular business. One even stated they told her her car needed $300.00 of work done before it would pass smog so she took it to another shop and it passed just fine. read more

It's a fueling station so I'm not sure what else I can say. I was just passing through and my friend needed to refuel before heading back to the city. It was cool that they had RACING FUEL, I got a kick out of that because it was 100 octane at $8.99/gallon and I've never seen that anywhere else before. Oh, that reminds me. There was a local who didn't take heed to my excitement, she screamed "Get over it!" simply because I was taking pictures. Obviously, I didn't get over it since here I am writing about it and still in awe at the racing fuel. read more

Andrew, co owner and head mechanic are SWINDLERS! My car y twelve yeRs old needed a smog test I had already installed a new battery. The car needed a left catalytic converter which cost $289 I paid that bill for $600 plus. Then he says the right one needed to be replaced for another $600 The battery merge to be fixed so he took out the pep boys battery and paid $100 cash. It lost the charge same day. He stated that the battefy was being drained by the radio on so he pulled that fuse. Still didn't work he then asked for keys n a few days to work on it so timing was good. When going to pick up car he held my keys hostage for $200 I had a young fellow who did eventually buy it for $550. He felt he could fix it and did so in one day. Andrew is stupid n preys on older widows. He would never get the keys to me so I feel he is a swindler n manipulator do not go there as they are stupid m imcompetant. Wow... I'm shocked that these guys can still be open... amazingly horrible customer service, AND they try to rip you off! We were there for gas and a smog check. The guy tried to get away with over charging our credit card on both transactions.... If we didn't double check, he probably would have gotten away with it. I don't know if this was just a one-off, and this guy was trying to collect some extra cash on Saturday... but, I'd steer-CLEAR of this place!! read more

Came here to get my car smogged based on an add in the Penny Saver. As others have mentioned, the add is a scheme. He tried to charge me over $60 when the add was for $25. The add even stated FREE RETEST. When I made sure of this, he said that was only if you pay full price (around $80!!!!!). There was no fine print on the add saying this anywhere. The whole time he talked aggressive to me and belittled me. He even THREW back my DMV form at me. I thankfully drove away and found another place to have my car smogged where they seem to care about their customers. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. This place is a rip off! they have and add for $30 smog but when we went we ended up paying $70! And that was a discount! The real estimate was $123! They added 84.75 and then 30 and then the 8.25 for the smog certificate and put down they gave us a discount of 53 bucks!?! What is this? Had to wait over an hour for them to smog are truck as well cause the belt on there machine came off. Don't go here nothing but lies and a rip off! read more

Had to go into Lodi for several errands and saw the smog sign while waiting for the light and thought...I'll just stop here and hopefully they can do this quickly. I have to say the young lady in the store was very friendly and the guy in the garage was also really nice...it took less than 1/2 hour to have this completed....They were wonderful and we will totally recommend this Shell for any service!!!! I have an 85 Toyota 4Runner on 35" tires. I dread when it's due for a smog check. The last three tests the initial test failed and each time it cost me time and money to get it to sqeeck by another year. This year was the first time it passed on the first round. The tester calls himself the "smog father". He knows his stuff. They also sell 100 octane gas for you hot rodders. read more

If you need an example of what is NOT customer service, you will find it here. Be careful questioning the owner (5'8"-5'10" tattooed left arm) about anything he was very aggressive and belittling towards me! He actually told all of his employee's that were present that they were never to serve me again, he did this while I was on my way to my car to leave, oh yeah in front of a few customers too! He also implied to another customer that I was a 'cheap scape' for requesting him to honor his ad in the penny saver. read more

This place is horrible. At first they quoted me $98 for a smog check and when I said no thanks they said ok how about $50. I agreed to pay the $50. My car passed the emissions and functional checks but the guy said that visually in "his opinion" there were things wrong with it so he had to fail me. When I questioned why the car passed the tests if there were problems he couldn't give me a reason, just kept telling me it was "his judgment". I took my car somewhere else the next day and it passed with no problems. I bet had I paid full price his "opinion" would have been different. They definitely took me for my $50. read more

After reading the earlier reviews I decided to try this station for a smog check and certificate because it was the least expensive I'd seen advertised anywhere: $21.75+$8.25 certificate fee. There tech who helped me was friendly and got right to the point: For a Star service it was more, but the CA requirement for my 2010 Ford Fusion was only for a standard test. It cost exactly as shown on the Pennysaver coupon, it was fast, and there was no tech there who appeared to have any tattoos. Good Job. read more

If you get gas here you have to watch the price on the pump. The price shown on the sign is always at least 10 cents a gallon cheaper than what they actually charge you. read more

Had work done on my car several times. Always got great service and only did what was needed and actually recommended not to do my brakes because i had plenty left. Honest. read more
