We stopped at the Skyway Travel Center while headed East on I-40 to fill up the gas tank, hit the…read morerestrooms, purchase yet another drink, and trade out drivers. Three of us embarked on a two day journey originating in Phoenix, AZ and terminating in Davis, IL which was marked by a stop at least every two hours to accomplish any combination of these goals. I drank more coffee, sodas. and energy drinks in the last 48 hours than I've consumed in the last month. The Skyway Travel Center was located conveniently within eye sight of the I-40 Freeway. We saw it from the freeway and had plenty of time to change langes and exit. It is located just off the freeway with easy access both getting on and off the exit and had reasonably priced Shell branded gasoline, cue checking off list item #1. The restrooms were clean, check off list item #r2. There was a Subway Sandwich store inside the same building as the convenience store, but it was too soon after breakfast and too far away from lunch for us to want to take advantage of it, but there was a good selection of drinks in the refrigerated case and the fountain offered both Diet Pepsi and Diet Dr Pepper, so Tyoni and I had no trouble finding drinks to help us survive the next leg of the drive, check off list item #3. I wandered around a room filled with Native American themed items for sale and kept myself entertained while Tyoni picked out a Sudoku book to keep herself entertained. It was Ron's turn to drive, so we checked the last item off our list and hopped back into the car to resume our journey

All pumps were full, but one had an empty car parked with bumper even with the middle of the pump. The assumption was that someone decided to run inside, so my husband backed bumper to bumper and began fueling. He was nearly finished when Eric, the extremely rude pump jocky, came up to my husband and started shouting that the pump had a leak, and that was why the car was parked there. My husband explained that he saw no leak and assumed that the owner of the car had gone into the store. He mumbled a few things as he went around the front of our car and as he approached my door, I heard him call my husband an effing a-hole (right in front of me and my daughter). I opened my door, got out and said, "Excuse me, what did you call him?" He repeated himself loudly and told us to "go back to Texas, "along with other things directed at my husband, who was now angry at Eric for shouting at me. I involved a female manager whose name, unfortunately, I forgot to get in all the chaos. At first, she was apathetic and didn't even want to come to the pump so I could show her where the car was parked and explain the misunderstanding, but she eventually came out and basically shrugged it off, including the cussing and shouting, and said she sided with Eric. I don't believe in the saying that the customer is always right, but an employee should never use that language and shout at a customer unless the customer started it. My advice to Eric and the manager, Shouting and cussing at customers costs business, paper, marker and tape to write "out of order", priceless!!! At the very least, park the car directly in front of the pump or perhaps invest in a traffic cone. But I guess a sign and/or traffic cone makes too much sense for the senseless. We won't be back, and it's a shame. The attached restaurant was quite good.

It's not my fault he has…read moreto clean toilets for an occupation & that's the job he has to settle for in life cause he can't do better .. it's 4am and I'm actually a truck driver that stops not so often . I take 30+ hour road trips and more then likely make what he makes in a month in literally one day . But yea long story short I had to pee & asked him if I could use the bathroom & he stepped out . N I literally took 20 seconds in the bathroom. & when I got out I thanked him & he blatantly ignored me , so I thanked him again & still no response. So I asked if he had a problem with me having to use the bathroom or the fact he chooses to work as a toilet cleaner for a occupation & instead of just being nice and saying ur welcome he literally caught a attitude with me saying the bathrooms are closed for a reason even if I took less then a minute he still had the worst attitude and I wish nothing but the worst for him. Even tho his life looks already pathetic enough.

It's a convenient and welcoming spot for both families and truckers to take a break. They even sell unique items like 3D-printed toys. The service was excellent, and checkout was quick and easy.
