I suspect, although I have never counted pumps, that this may be the largest gas station in…read moreTorrington. It's close to the first exit off Route 8 heading north with minimal stop signs to get there, so if you're in a gas pinch it's a happy sight to see. The station itself is pretty clean, and have a wider variety on snacks for the weary traveler then chips and soda. The downside is they don't consistently print their receipts at the pump and going in can require a wait in line.

It's not the cleanliness, because the two pumps are both pretty clean. It's certainly not the employees, because the gentleman in the store tonight was very friendly. It's the location - this is located on the hypotenuse of a three-light intersection. I'm not clear on whether I have to wait for the opposite angle to turn green before I can go or not. But it makes getting out a little frustrating, particularly since you have a small space to work with. The station and attached shop also seem to change names frequently, but they are pretty consistent on being affordable no matter what name is on the pump.

The reason I am writing this review was that I stepped into the store and asked the man behind the counter to call 911. He refused, I mean absolutely refused even after I explained that it was for the man who fell off of his bike and couldn't get up on the store property. I will never shop here again because of this and urge everyone else to also not shop here. If someone is so heartless that they won't call 911 to help a poor man on the ground then they don't deserve the business.

Part of this review may be related to my growing frustration with Cumberland Farms in general. I…read moresuspect they are playing a long game of getting rid of receipts at the pump in order to save paper. Over the last few months, I can count the number of times on one hand I've actually been able to get a receipt at the pump, and I get gas at a Cumberland Farms at least once a week. This specific location at least has an error message to let you know there's no paper and to go into the shop. It's not the end of the world, but it's an annoyance we as the human race have the resources to fix. Other then that, the parking lot is small and the parking area is partially obstructed on the left-hand side. The store is well-lit and your standard gas station snacks and drinks.

Main St. and E. Main St. in Torrington. It has only four pumps and can get crowded at times, but you can't beat its convenience for us, and the fact that the folks who work here are pretty nice. So, local and all that, and the 99-cent coffee and we're happy. We also use Cumberland's 10-cent discount card.

This is NOT the first time I have stopped in and she was cranky, blunt and just plain not very nice. This place is very convenient but I won't go again- well, I will if I know she is not working.

The first time I went there it was an average gas station experience. Drive in, pump, drive out…read more The second time was terrible. Every pump was full, and there were cars waiting in line. One pump overflowed and a puddle of gas formed below it. I didn't know that was possible. When I finally got to pump, it took four seconds for .1 gallons of gas, and over 10 minutes to fill up my fairly small tank. The second star is really a hopeful one that it was a one-time experience and we'll be back to the generic in, pump, out. It's pretty clean too.
