Honey, let me tell you what that is the best fried chicken you will ever eat! I never once in my life thought.I would be telling people to go to the gas station to get the chicken, BUT... skip the restaurants if you want fried chicken, go to Keys. You won't regret it. Why are you though you might as well get the red beans and rice too!

The memory in question was about a catfish poboy wherein I ordered it and the cashier washed her hands, dredged a fresh catfish filet through an egg wash and cornmeal, prepped the roll, and voila! It was heavenly. 12+ years later, the menu only said "fish" poboy sandwich. If you're a catfish purist like myself, that's a red flag, so I went with the fried chicken. My wife ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich despite the geographical incongruity. Both were outstanding, and I can't recommend the kitchen enough.

Now decades later, this gas station is one of the only businesses that still exists from my childhood. While I don't make it a habit to play beer pong in my adult life, I've twice gone to this location to buy red solo cups. Parking is pretty easy if you're not getting gas. It's never really busy. I admire the sign that they won't serve children during school hours. For a tiny gas station, it's pretty stocked. They also have red cups in a 20 cup pack; the perfect amount of cups for beer pong. That being said, you can't just buy said cups. Minimum of $5 on a credit card. A 20 cup pack of red cups and a pack of Orbitz gum is still five cents under the $5 minimum, and much like the clerk from when I was little if you don't have that five cents...well you're SOL. For future reference, pack of cups, a pack of Orbitz gum, and one banana Laffy Taffy will get you over the $5 minimum. I have no doubt I will be returning potentially for another pack of red cups, but maybe I'll just bring cash.

They left an impression this last hurricane season by personally directing traffic to keep it moving efficiently and stopping people from cutting. I rarely go there for gas, however, I go there for the fried chicken and meat pies. This is New Orleans, after all, and our gas stations often carry better food than the average restaurant elsewhere, so why wouldn't you try it? My favorite is to pick up food before a Saints game to take to friends and enjoy all afternoon. The seasoning on the chicken is amazing, it's generally pretty fresh, and if you're a strips person and want some dipping sauce, they've got you covered for that, too. Even after Hurricane Ida, last year, they worked hard to get things straightened up enough and cleaned out quickly to keep the neighborhood fed and on its feet. Love that can-do attitude!
