Tons of souvenirs and junk, plus snacks, but we were on a mission to get to South of the Border and all the junk there. There were several women in the bathroom, but they were incredibly sweet about me having brought a male careperson in. No one objected and you can't imagine what a relief that is to me every time that happens. The accessible stall was a tight squeeze but I was able to fit my entire wheelchair inside and shut the door. Love's is a truckstop and I was fascinated when they paged people to let them know that their showers were ready. Intrigued, I looked it up and it seems that the showers ARE accessible. Now I really want to see one. I have been on roadtrips before where I couldn't access a shower. That really put a damper on my mental health after a couple days. It's nice to know that I don't have to suffer, if there's a Love's around.

The smell was so good I genuinely checked to see if there was a bakery hidden behind the hand dryers. Spoiler: there wasn't--just toilets, a mop bucket, and broken dreams. My nose was thrilled, but my heart was betrayed. Meanwhile, a single fly kept landing on my foot like it was trying to comfort me through the emotional rollercoaster. And the sink water? Needless to say, I didn't swipe my credit card. I went inside the BP station and spoke with cashier Marcie. I told her of the open card reader doors and was advised that management was aware of the problem. She also said that a repair order was made a week ago. Buyer beware at this gas station.
