But, today there were no crowds and I easily pulled in, filled up, and grabbed a late lunch. Fair prices on fuel (especially with Shell discount program). Inside...clean (and the staff appeared to keep busy quietly sweeping/wiping down areas on and off the entire time I was there) Restrooms - single M and single W with deadbolt locks were clean and had plenty of hand towels. Drink and beverage coolers , including one with a handful of local craft beers) were well-stocked. The "grab and go" hot case (mid afternoon) still had a few items for sale that looked reasonably fresh (made today ? probably). Chips, snacks, candy, etc racks were well-stocked with the usual assortment of high-cal, salty, fatty ....aka high quick energy items. We finally found this QT but we had to go out and turn around to come into the second entrance to hit the first pump. This was the only was to be able to keep going forward and out thru the truck area. Gas stations are such a joke for large vehicles. We don't have diesel RV. Can't they either make gas stations with either the pumps open to get in and out easily OR put regular gas in the truck areas?

The Really Good: Staff are polite and helpful. The Pretty Good: Store shelves are very well stocked. Lots of ethnic foods to satisfy many tastes...especially some kinds of special flavor snacks. Yum. Uh....BIG cans and bottles of beer and cases of big cans. OK The - uh oh: Decided to try breakfast. Very limited menu (and same for lunch). Egg Sandwich was just that....a hard fried egg, broken into the pan and slapped between two pieces of pale white toast. Egg, sausage and hashbrowns....Same as above. (Granted, it was a fresh egg)...broken and friend hard in oil; two small rounds of commercial sausage; a cold commercial biscuit; and a burned on one side, greasy hash brown patty. One dingy small table with 4 chairs near the front of the store....we decided to eat in our car. Go for the commercially packaged goods - you'll be fine....But if you want breakfast or lunch....uh, whatever (as the saying goes). I really can't recommend the made-to-order food.

Looking for a scenic country drive out of Nashville and some thick cut-just sliced off the stick baloney? Yep, this is where you've been looking for. You will want to order an additional pound or so to bring home - trust me. The Potts family has lived in this area forever, and are just nice people in addition to making a great samich. What else is there to do in Santa Fe? Well, there's a second gas station, that is also the big game check in station, and a diner next door to this little market. There is a tiny post office, a community center, a couple of churches, and a school. That's it. Seriously. But if you're in the mood for a Sunday drive, Highway 7 that Potts' is sort of off of (use your GPS if you're not local, which if you're reading this, you're not I bet). Hwy 7 connects Columbia (few interesting places there) to Dickson (where I grew up, again, some interesting places). If you prefer, the Natchez Trace is nearby as well. So go pay them a visit, and tell Linda (she's probably gonna be there), that one of the Beattys suggested you stop in.
