I needed a few items and made the mistake of deciding to get gas. It started out bad. I managed to get chocolate milk on me that the previous customers had spilled. I was not even offered a paper towel. My crime was not knowing my pump number; the cashier even said so. Well, instead of telling me which pump she put my gas on, the cashier let me go to my car, only to find out the pump wouldn't work. I went back into the store; I had to yell to get their attention and ask which pump my gas purchase was on. They told me pump 11. I tried that pump; it didn't work either. I went back inside to get my money back . One cashier knew what to do . The manager stood around in the background uselessly . The cashier I unfortunately had to deal with didn't seem to know what to do or how to work the register. I'm pretty sure she doesn't know the pump numbers either. They accused me of not knowing how to work the pump. I know how to work BP pumps, even though they are weird. I hope tbe money went back on my card. First off, why are you wearing shades when it is dark outside and driving around with them on around the parking lot? Not only did he put the new tires separate from each other but he put my chrome rim on the inside which made him have to take the tires back off the rim and start over.. During this whole process he kept stopping to talk and text on his phone.. So with him holding me up for unnecessary reasons i missed out on delivering my load. One time I was coming back from a bike ride along Riverfront Canal running very low on gas and without my wallet (that's another story). I had a 20 miles drive back home so I knew I had to refuel. Scrambled for all the coins under the cars seats, pockets etc (BTW it's amazing what you can find under the seats!)...got about $2.80 in change... When I went to the cash register and asked for $2.80 worth of gas...the young lady got money from her own purse to make up $5! She didn't know me yet she did a great gesture. That's outstanding customer service worth shouting about! So on your way to EdVenture, State Museum, Riverfront Canal Park, or State Capitol fill up your tank with cheap gas at El Cheapo.

The employee looked at me like I was wasting his time and said, "I've worked here for years and I've never had any of them, so I don't know what the differences are!" You would think that someone selling these things would learn a little something about them in the many years that he's worked here, but nope! About two minutes after that, the same employee yelled to one of his co-workers who was near the entrance, bellowing, "DON'T LET ANYONE ELSE IN THE STORE!" Anyone still in the store was allowed to leave, though ... Oh! It was closing time at 11 pm, and grumpy wanted to get the heck out of here. After taking our turns in the restrooms, we bought a slushy and a bag of spicy beef jerky. While we were paying at the cash register, the grumpy and tired employee, who had locked the front door and was on the inside ensuring that the only people going through the door were four of us, was now yelling at some woman who wanted to come inside. The employee kept yelling, "WE'RE CLOSED, MA'M! WE'RE CLOSED! to her". As we walked toward the door, grouchy unlocked the door and glared at us as we walked out. The snack and drink was good.
