We walked out and headed west and stopped at te 24/7 Travel Store. The 24/7 Travel Store has restrooms that were very clean and a very well stocked c-store. AND - their cold beveage selection was indeed cold. This site was a welcome site for us after a long day in the car. We were hot, tired and thirsty and found welcome relief here. The staff was personable and efficent - very nice. I would highly recommend the 24/& Travel Store.

The bathrooms were less than pleasant. Beyond the usual uncleanliness left by other travelers it could be seen that they had not been cleaned or even checked anytime recently. But one makes due when needed. Being that it was very early (4:00 a.m.) we stopped by the cappuccino machine. After dispensing the beverage a looked closer and was appalled at the condition of the machine. Truth be told we got our fuel and drink and we're back on the road in a small amount of time, but we will make sure to go a few miles further down the road next time.

For one thing their prices are about $0.20 higher per gallon than the going rate. Second, the first pump I used only dripped out maybe a gallon every 10 minutes...so when I noticed after changing a kid's diaper that I only had 0.53 gallons I had to stop it and go to a different one (that was still pretty slow). Aggravating. I was thirsty but didn't want to give this company a dollar more so I didn't even go in the convenience store portion. Bathrooms are below average. Bottomline: get gas in Salina or Russell so you don't need to be here.

He said NO Ma'am! You must purchase something. We bought a couple gallons of overpriced gas (.20cents more than previous station) & went on our way. They were rude& un-caring, perhaps it was my purple hair, or the fact that the rest area 4 miles from here is closed, & not many bathrooms between Salina & Hays, but considering that we were crying & upset, I felt they could have been more accommodating & understanding.

It's kind of a mess. The convenience store is small and there is no hot or freshly prepared food even though there are refrigerated cases for this- the cases are completely empty. There are signs all over the fountain drink machine about charges for cups, ice, etc. When I say signs, I mean a bunch of signs repeated over and over about the cost of everything- it is a bit obnoxious. There is supposed to be a taco place adjacent/connected to this Travel Plaza and there is a window in the travel plaza convenience store where I guess you would be able to order tacos. This is all shut down/closed. The whole experience is weird. Hays KS is large and there are lots of gas stations and convenience stores- I would go somewhere else.
