Shell tends to be a littler pricier for gas, and since there's no competition in the immediate area, it's not going to be the cheapest. Their Techron is pretty widely regarded as a good and effective additive. I was surprised to see that my new BMW actually has a sticker by the gas tank cap stating that BMW recommends Shell fuels. Another big reason I always go to Shell is that I save a ton of money on gasoline thanks to their partnership with Ralphs. If you sign up for a Ralphs Club card and swipe it when you shop there, you'll get 10 cents off per gallon at Shell for every $100 spent at Ralphs. I usually don't even shop for groceries there but it also applies to gift card purchases. I spend a lot at Amazon, Target, DoorDash, Starbucks, etc so I buy $100 gift cards for those places from Ralphs. Ralphs also has coupons for 4x points on Fridays so you get 40c off per gallon per $100 spent up to $1 off per gallon. If I'm gonna spend that money anyway, I might as well save a bunch on gas while I'm at it. I save a minimum of $500 per year doing this.
