I've tried a bunch of places over…read morethe years and it was always "fine" but I'd leave feeling unsure, or like I got rushed, or just not totally confident in what was done. King's Smile Dental with Dr. Fikhman is the first place where I actually felt like... alright, I'm good here. The first thing you notice is the office is just easy to deal with. Whoever's at the front desk is on it -- not robotic, not annoying, just friendly and helpful. Making the appointment was simple, and when I had to change it (more than once, because my schedule is a mess), they didn't give me attitude or make it complicated. They worked with me and got me in, which I really appreciated. Now the important part: Dr. Fikhman. He has that calm, confident vibe that makes you relax a little, and he actually explains what's happening instead of just doing stuff and disappearing. He checks in, makes sure you're comfortable, answers questions, and you can tell he cares about the work being right, not just "done." Also the place feels modern without being all flashy about it. The equipment/tech seems up to date and the whole process felt organized, like they're not winging it. And after everything I had done, the results honestly came out great. If you've had meh dentist experiences and you want someone you can stick with long-term, I'd recommend Dr. Fikhman. This is the first time I've left a dental office and actually felt relieved instead of stressed.

Deceptive Billing, Unnecessary Blood Tests, and Public Humiliation…read more I scheduled my appointment through the clinic's website, which clearly stated the $300 fee included both the medical exam and completion of Form I-693. When I arrived, the receptionist confirmed this. Even the doctor told me--without me even asking--that the $300 covered both the appointment and the documentation. He said a blood test might be an additional charge and necessary to complete my I-693 which I agreed. I had already provided proof of all required vaccinations, and blood test that I got in another clinic and my insurance paid for it, so there was no medical reason to run any tests. Still, they mentioned one specific blood test, but then performed a different one that I did not need. When I returned to receive my results, I was suddenly told I had to pay another $300 to complete the documentation(form I-693) completely contradicting what both the website and staff had previously confirmed. When I questioned it, the receptionist began yelling at me in front of the entire waiting room and refused to finalize my paperwork unless I paid again. It was deeply unprofessional and humiliating. After leaving, I called the clinic to clarify. They told me the website was "wrong," and that the true cost was $300 for the exam and another $300 for the form (I-693) something never disclosed at any point. I requested a detailed, itemized bill showing the charges for both the appointment and filling the form but they refused. All they offered was a basic credit card receipt. When I finally received a billing summary, through email they cc two more people who could see all my bill and personal information, however they didn't disclose the charges and instead just sent me a total of due without specific information, so i had to request a disclosed bill and when I got it,they were charging me for hepatitis b, varicella and MMR titer and i had the vaccines for all these (I gave them my vaccine record including vaccines for these diseases so not blood test was necessary) This clinic is dishonest, lacks transparency, and operates unethically. They performed unnecessary medical procedures, changed prices after the fact, refused to provide proper billing, and publicly humiliated me. I strongly urge others to avoid this place at all costs

I have to disagree with the top reviewer (who seems to stay at the top no matter what? Interesting…read more Must be some Yelp thing I don't know about. I actually suspect that her staff may be adding all these 5 star reviews to keep the rating balance alive - but I digress...) and concur with the majority of the rest. I saw Dr. Stroud in this office. I'm reviewing here because neither the practice - LICH Family Medicine - or the doctor I saw have an entry yet on YELP. The doctors at this practice are truly, truly good, solid doctors. Dr. Stroud could occasionally be hurried and scatter brained, but most of the time she listened and responded well to most of my concerns. The problem is that in a doctor's office, quite a bit of your time is spent dealing with the office staff. And at this practice, the primary issue is absolutely their abominable, insufferable, HORRIBLE staff. They are unfailingly inappropriately loud, rude, dismissive, unhelpful, and generally the textbook definition of poor customer service and patient care. The last straw with this office (and there were many before this one) was this past Monday when I found myself knee deep in throes of the flu, pregnant, with chronic respiratory disease. I called the office first thing that morning to see if I could get an appointment to see Dr, Stroud. I got the voicemail (as usual, no one EVER picks up the phone at this practice) and was reminded that there were walk in hours that day. I know what walk in hours mean at LICH Family Med - it means HOURS and HOURS of interminable waiting - so I decided to stay on the phone and see if I could reach a person just to make sure that it wasn't at all possible to get an appointment. After several attempts, including redialing the number over and over again and getting no one, I decided to just show up. When I did, the receptionist, after making me wait for her to finish her personal conversaiton with another member of the staff, unceremoniously informed me that one of the doctors was on vacation, the other was sick, and that I could return on Wednesday - two days later - if I wanted to be seen. First of all, if they had picked up the phone EVER I could have avoided dragging myself, flu riddled, pregnant and on the verge of an asthma attack to the office in the first place. Second of all, since there are no doctors in and therefore no patients to see, it BAFFLES me why the fact that walk in hours were effectively canceled was not added to the voicemail - especially since they never answer the phone. Did I mention NEVER? Yeah - NEVER. It was a blessing in disguise though, because after meaning to for months now, I finally got off my duff and found a new internist. I made an appointment at a wonderful practice in the city with a person, in 10 minutes flat. My doctor saw me 15 minutes after I walked into the office. He determined that I needed to see a specialist, so the staff made an appointment for me with a pulmonologist while I received breathing treatments in the office. (!!!) I was treated like a sick patient and a paying customer and I didn't have to wait for anyone to finish discussing thier weekend to attend to me the entire time I was there. I bet the billing will even be done correctly - the impossibility of which was a foregone conclusion at LICHFM. I don't know why or how LICH Family Medicine continues to operate the way they do and keep patients, but I'm done with them for good. They can fail to call in refills, fail to read charts, smack gum while they loudly discuss people's charts, and otherwise display with precision what it means to give bottom of the barrel service with someone else from now on. I'll take my business elsewhere.

Dr. Toprover is an exceptionally knowledgeable doctor who treats his patients with great care and…read moreattention. He remembers his patients' medical history without even having to look at their records. Another huge plus is that he sees patients exactly at their scheduled appointment time--there is no waiting or unnecessary delay. Of all the doctors I have had to see during my 35 years of living in this country, Dr. Toprover is the best.

A mixed bag. The good: Dr. Toprover is knowledgeable and professional. He has a good "bedside"…read moremanner and really listens to you. He is old school in the right ways--he noticed a major health problem I had instantly, whereas the urgent clinic I'd gone to the day before did not. The not so good: The office is always incredibly crowded. You will wait long past your appointment time, guaranteed. The receptionist, while knowledgeable, is extremely brusque, to put it politely. I've had specialists call there and almost hang up on her. The old school really holds: The doctor doesn't do fax or email. Need a referral or refill? He will want you there in person, I guess so he can charge your insurance, not taking into consideration that you may need to take another day off work. You will see lots of people complaining about the dirty office in the Google reviews. They are correct. I stay with him because he is near to me.

Just went in for an annual check-up...sounds simple enough…read more.. Was told i would receive a message from doctor concerning the blood results the following week. Waited patiently and no response. Called 10 days later and was told by receptionist my blood tests came out "Normal". I asked if it were possible to speak to doctor regarding any details about the blood tests. Was told that i would have to make another appointment to speak to the doctor since my tests were Normal. Then i asked if i could have a copy of my blood test results sent to me. Once again,..they are unable to - "you have to come in person to pick up the results", i was told. Trekked all the way to the doctor's office (a subway ride for me) to pick up my tests results and then looked at the blood tests in detail when i got back home. Apparently my 'Triglyceride' levels (level of fat in the blood) is 2x the normal range...and i have trace of Ketones in my urine. Ketones means that i'm burning fat rather than glucose to produce energy. Thanks a lot doc...don't you think this was information i should have known or at least been able to discuss?! It's sad when WebMd and Wikipedia has to fill in the blanks... The level of care was not what i expected from a doctor. You get a lonely star for submitting my paper work to the Lab and for not charging me for the photocopies of my Lab results. The search for a decent doctor continues...

I came here for the Botox injections ., so its for the upstairs part of the clinic. There was only…read more15min wait. Doctor also see primary care patients. But the wait seems like a long time, because there were too many people in the waiting room. I will recommend this Dr for his skills and prices in anti aging medicine.
