Brought my parents to watch USA Vs. Belgium game on the big screen. The city hosted this event and the set up at the park was very well organized. No alcohol or other drugs/etc permitted FYI. Cops are monitoring closely as well as security guards on foot. You can bring your own non-alcoholic drinks, snacks, etc. There was a hot dog stand as well, you can never go wrong with a famous street hot dog (support small business)
I felt safe during this event, can't speak for other days at this park. It is known to be on a semi-bad area, lots of homeless people or druggies come to chill.
Public restrooms are open and moderately clean for being public. It was a great time and much cooler than staying at home (with no A/C) much fresher and lively. I enjoyed seeing US fans come out and support although it was the last time team USA will be seen at the world cup.
Otherwise, this is a nice ample park mostly known for soccer games on the field and a dog friendly park as well. (when owners use leash as they are supposed to) Beware of the devil prickers as dogs are vulnerable to those.
Plenty of parking spaces on dirt ground and locally convenient for me. read more
