I have been training at ShelbyTrained for 6 months. Staff are thoroughly knowledgeable in what works as a balance between strength, flexibility, balance and can tailor for specific sports, weak areas, or injury prone areas. It's great training for anyone looking to improve or excel athletically or merely stay healthy, strong, and extend life with better quality of life. In my case it's all the above, and realistically without an accountability/anchor for this type of work, it's difficult to maintain the consistency to get results entirely on one's own. Staff are top quality people, fun to work with, and small groups make an hour of hard work as fun as working out can be. I know it's working due to performance on the field - quicker turns, surer stops, semi-chronically-injured areas like impinged shoulders getting stronger and have wider pain free range, and an annoying unneeded 10 lbs leaving my body. In my opinion everyone who can ... should ... do this kind of training whether they are athletic or not, and Shelby Trained is, now that I'm familiar with the entire program, an obvious place to do it. read more

I have been working out at Shelby Trained for almost four years now and have been very happy with my experience. I originally started training at Shelby's to improve myself as an athlete, but as of recently I have used the training as a way to stay fit and healthy. The trainers are extremely kind and knowledgeable and have continually helped me improve myself and stay healthy. I have had problems with chronic low back pain and injuries, and the trainers have helped me recover from these pains and injuries and continue to help me prevent any more injuries or pains from happening. Shelby trained is a community of dedicated men and women who are committed to their health snd well being. I came to Shelby about five years ago after a knee replacement. He has helped me greatly improve my flexibility and strength. He is constantly rewriting my exercise program to maximize the things that I want improved. It's fun which is important. I'm ready for a hip replacement so that will be another challenge. I'm very grateful to have the team at Shelby Trained to help me through rehab. read more

I have been training with Shelby for more than 5 years. I didn't play sports in school and while I intermittently went to aerobics classes, gyms, jogged etc, I never stuck with any of these activities. Shelby Trained has been an entirely different experience. He and the trainers who work with him are focussed on improving their client's function - balance, flexibility and strength. I have been in his small group sessions with up to three other people. We each have our own set of exercises which are tailored to us and which change every four weeks. Our form and progress are monitored (in a nice way). The sessions are fun even when the exercises are challenging. So five years and two knee replacements later I am still with Shelby Trained and able to do much much more than I would have anticipated. Shelby Trained recently moved from space at North Yarmouth Academy which was ok to wonderful new space in the Garmin Building - which is light, airy and beautifully designed.
