This is when I reached out to see if she could help. When I say she performed a miracle, I am not joking. I went I to Vigor and she took me to a side room where we did cupping. She first analyzed my body and then went to work! I was lucky enough that she was gentle at first and then as soon as the cupping started she stayed true to what needed to be done. I had never had it done before! It felt as if she was pulling my muscles, cracking the fibers and laying them down perfectly. In the end it felt like I had multiple massages at once and my range of motion was better than before. Completely worth my time and the money! Don't sleep on Cali! She is amazing!

On the MMA side of the gym: Rob's MMA striking class is great and he will make you get comfortable in your opposite stance. Henry's submission grappling class is ridiculously fun and he is amazing at helping you jump into something that feels so completely foreign if you're new. Darren could not be more passionate about boxing and is so good about teaching you both the outer AND the inner game of boxing. In the kickboxing class Jon is all about proper technique so he will help you undo all the poor form you didn't even realize you were doing. Matt is a pro Muay Thai fighter who is approachable and a wealth of knowledge. In Jon's MMA striking class you get awesome instruction while doing really fun exercises and he will whip you into shape but with a sense of humor the whole time. On the BoxFit side: Mariel and Lilia lead super creative HIIT circuit classes that will make you sore for days. Mandy is a lovely badass and by the end of one of her intense classes you will be surrounded by a pool of your own sweat. Eric is hilarious and will push you to push yourself! If you spend any time here you'll quickly get a sense that Eric and Mandy work hard to make this feel like a community where everybody is welcome. They do this in terms of offering classes at really affordable prices, but more than that through the way they authentically interact with everyone who walks in the door. I was pretty intimidated about walking into a gym like this for the first time but it feels like an ego-free zone where you get the opportunity to learn new things alongside friendly people. Jessica has Cardio Tabata class Mondays at 6pm which I would describe as cardio/strength interval training where people rotate between different exercise stations. It is a great workout and keeps your blood pumping and heart rate up throughout the class. On Wednesdays at 6pm, she does a strength bootcamp class which is similar to Mondays class. We use free weights, interval training, "yoga bands" I'm not sure what they're called haha. Classes are a lot of fun and it's a great atmosphere, everyone is really welcoming to newcomers and very friendly. I've only been going for about a month and I can feel myself getting stronger, and I've lost about 10 lbs (I've been eating healthier, too). Jessica is a great instructor, and she also meets with people one-on-one for personal fitness training. At Back Cove they offer other services as well, you can receive individual personal fitness instruction, fitness rehabilitation, senior fitness, metabolic recovery, ski fitness, stroller fitness, and posture alignment (check out their website/facebook page for class schedules). The facility is very clean and well maintained. I definitely recommend the classes. It's a fun time and great workout for all stages of fitness.
