After the shutdown, I made much needed appointment with my hairdresser at this salon. Based on the Phase II criteria and what was posted on the website, I felt that I would not be put at risk if I went. I have asthma. In the past two months we have lost two friends to COVID 19. When I arrived I was happy to see the sign on the door directing me to wait outside until called, but I was soon disheartened to discover that nobody was wearing mask inside. On my behalf, my hairdresser asked everyone (both hairdressers and customers) to wear masks, but with the exception of one customer, everyone refused. I had one brief encounter with the owner, Lena. Unfortunately, wearing a mask and even encouraging her team to wear a mask was in her opinion a matter of rights. She dismissed the importance of health and safety at this critical point in time and instead chose to demonstrate a lack of responsibility, leadership and compassion. This surely shaped the climate of those in her salon. There are so many other reputable salons in this area who will value you and your service. I hope my message will help you decide what you deserve. read more
