You can usually get a pretty fast appointment. He also gives you as much time as you need. He's one of the few physicians I've encountered who's not an a clock. He's also incredibly conscientious and attentive. I had some anomolous blood test results a year ago. The cause was not immediately apparent. But he worked through the differential diagnoses and referred me to an world-class hematologist, who concluded that the anomolies were benign. Huge relief. When he makes referrals, the docs are invariably tops in their fields. And best of all, he responds to email. Heaven! His office staff is generally attentive and efficient. They are on a very good EMR system that has an excellent patient interface (myhealthonline). But it still has limitations in terms of sharing records with other providers, referrals to out-of-network docs, etc. Where that happens, you're back to faxing things back and forth which drives me crazy. Who has a fax machine anymore? It's like asking patients to use carbon paper and white-out. Net net, Hwang is tops. I'm frankly surprised he's still taking new patients. I'd have assumed he'd be full up by now.

I asked Datalink ITS (record keeper company) to send my complete medical history to his office. The form I filled out to authorize the release asked me for Dr. Damon Lee's office address and fax #. The form did not specify how they will deliver my records. I tried to get Dr. Lee's office email but the receptionist roared, "We don't have an email here!" then hang up. Nevertheless, they ended up faxing a 150 page to his office. His office called me hysterical about the whole thing yelling at me to make it stop. Frantically, I called Datalink and left a message, and also emailed them. Moreover, Dr. Damon Lee's office called me back and continuously yelled at me because Datalink could not stop the fax. I was also informed after being scolded that because of this, Dr. Damon Lee is refusing to see me. I was stunned and distressed with their decision not to see me because of this error made by a third party. I explained that this should not affect their decision to see a patient. I reported this incident to the Medical Board of California because I believe a physician should not refuse to see patients for inconsequential incidents such as this. The lady at the front desk is extremely vicious (I am using a nice word here). I can't even express in words how she screamed at me and didn't even let me speak. I managed to ask her though if she had seen the reviews about her on yelp and she simply said she didn't care and slammed the phone on me!

I have…read moreabsolutely no doubt that she would not be alive today, and thriving as well as she is, if it were not for the consistent and brilliant care provided by Dr. Lee. My mother had a bad fall recently and had to be taken to the hospital Emergency Room. Although they checked her out and prescribed pain medication, they really didn't provide any advice for improving her health. Dr. Lee called us the very next day - as soon as he received the report from the hospital - and provided all the critical information that we needed to help my mother get better. Dr. Lee also arranged for in home health care visits by nurses and physical therapists to ensure a complete recovery. We would have never known how to arrange any of those kinds of medical visits. I wish I could give one million stars in my review because Dr. Lee deserves them. I appreciate that my 93 year old mother is feeling much better and is able to walk more each day - all because of Dr. Lee. His office staff of Barbara , Rosa , and everyone are truly wonderful too. They are always so sweet and patient when we are in for office visits. They have helped me so much in dealing with my mother's (often difficult) prescription medication mail service provider. I had to wait another month to be rescheduled. Finally got the doctor to see me, and prescribed a prescription but upon hearing from the pharmacy, they needed to reach out to the doctor for further information on the prescription. It's been two weeks since the prescription was submitted, and the doctor has not responded to the pharmacy's message. I would avoid going to this doctor and deal with the office staff. Find another doctor but not Dr. Carrillo.

They rarely answer the phone, and when they do they office staff is very nice, and they take messages that rarely get returned, or result in prescriptions being called in. Walgreens tries so hard to get through to them and can't either. We tried & tried because mom really liked Jessica, but dealing with the office was so difficult that we had to leave the practice. Saw Dr. Kealy a few times, and it she was rude to mom, barely examined her and did not listen to us. Jessica Kung, NP is the gold standard at this office, and the only thing good there. I've been meaning to write a review of Dr. Warren Chang for some time now. He is my father's…read morenephrologist (kidney doctor). My family and I truly cannot thank Dr. Chang enough for his life-saving work. In summary, a few years back my father's kidney function had declined significantly, which his primary care doctor had failed to inform him about despite blood tests etc. (this is a whole other story...). After several stints in the hospital and ICU, I searched frantically for a seasoned nephrologist and found Dr. Chang. He and his colleagues from Westbay Nephrology came to my father's aid and made repeated visits to the hospital to monitor my dad. The primary care doctor never visited my father once. Thanks in large part to Dr. Chang's expert care, my father's kidney function improved to the point where he did not need dialysis. Today my dad is stable and continues to see Dr. Chang regularly for his thorough care and expertise. We are so grateful for Dr. Chang.
