Got one of the big cups, fully expecting to pay the standard fountain price even though it was just water. The cashier waved me off saying water was free. The plus side is that the Premium gas was significantly cheaper but the card machine wasn't able to read my Costco membership card. I had to scan the QR code from the Costco app. When I was about to leave, the other worker told me to turn my car around instead of going straight in order to exit the area. How was I supposed to know the pathing here when there are no clear indication? This is just poorly-managed station, just like its associated warehouse in this particular location.

Being just as you go into a corporate office park, they are very convenient for those going/coming from work. Great location. However once inside, there are a few things you run into. Literally. This station is very small. Compounded with a very crowded overpacked layout, it's difficult to navigate. There is actually an overabundance of unshelved stock stored in the very limited open space of the store, making it more crowded and hard to maneuver in. In fact today, there was so many plastic storage bins and stock packed in front of shelves I could not get into the products I wanted to pick up. Hopefully there will be a solution soon that can take that unstocked merchandise in an alternate area (?build an outside storage building?) that can clean up and give back the limited space they have available. However it's even so crowded at the register counter area with products and items to try to sell that there is hardly any room to place the items you want to purchase down...definitely overcrowded even at the register space and it is frustrating. To their credit, they have a good variety of products to offer for such a small store (thumbs up for 40g protein drink Muscle Milk being offered). This location in Apex, definitely not my home location, and I'm going to go ahead and be very thankful for that. I happened to be in the area on my way back to the Triad and needed gas, which turned into a WHOLE THING. This was a Saturday, and yeah, Costco on a Saturday is generally very busy. Expected. But this place was total gridlock. You could not move in certain spots, because traffic is not effectively funneled onto any kind of main thoroughfare through the parking lot. Whoever designed this parking lot needs to be forced to exist in it and instantly regret all their choices. The Costco gas station, is at the epicenter of the nonsense, and that makes it even worse of a problem. It's just at the top of where Hwy 55 crests if you're headed South... about .5 miles past Beaver Creek.
