An associate by the name of aaron came out to assist me, and was the greatest thing that happened during my visit there. He was very polite in patient with my questions. He opened the box so I could see the color of the chair that I was wanting to buy. He told me how the assembly of the chair would be. He went to the front to find the price of the chair. He bought the chair out of all the mayhem that was in the back of the store to the front and have my brother to load it in the car. He is a great fit for this company here in danville. He is a very outstanding employee. I told him thank you, but I would like some type of recognition for the job that he did today.

Three days later, I called the store about 45 minutes before arriving to let them know I was on my way. When I arrived, I immediately saw the rug I had already purchased sitting in a basket. I mentioned that they had already brought my rug up, but an associate insisted it wasn't mine and called the manager to look for it in the back. While they searched, I showed them a photo of the rug and my receipt. They confirmed my purchase was in the system but still couldn't find it. I even walked to the back of the store to show the manager where the rug had been. By the time I returned to the front, the associate had sold my rug to another customer. The rug had been sold twice--even though I had already paid for it days earlier. The manager told me there was nothing they could do except issue a refund. While I got my money back, that did not make up for the wasted trip, the time I spent, or the frustration of having an item I had already purchased sold to someone else. This situation should never have happened. Better communication and inventory control are clearly needed. I expected much better customer service and would not recommend this store based on my experience.

We were looking at Halloween decorations and most items were out of place or sold out. Pricing items became really difficult as items were not in the right places. This was no big deal at the time as we thought we could just ask a sales associate. Again; unfortunately there were no sales associates around to ask anything. Surely someone was at the registers. Nope; it was a ghost town inside of Home Depot. Thats when my wife had enough and we just left and took our business back to Lowes. I do not know the reason for an empty store and lack of employee's but I do know that this was not a fun experience especially for a newcomer to The Home Depot. She said she really wanted that specific door so we went to home Depot. Going back to the door area there were two employees sitting there. I gave my phone to one of them that was on their website with the door we wanted. Well that person was looking up the door or doing whatever they were doing I asked the other person for a price on a door right beside us. The other person said "maybe $600 to $1,200." I asked if I could get a definitive price. She again said "maybe $600 to $1,200." It was pretty apparent she was not going to type the information into the computer and get a price so I gave up. By this time the first person who was looking up the door said they couldn't help me because they were locked out of their account. They printed a piece of paper and told me to take it to the front and the front would scan it and let me pay for it. I took the paper and my wife and I left. Before going to the front we went to the garden area because my wife wanted a Ryobi battery operated chainsaw. Everything was locked up behind cages and there was no one around so I approached the first employee I could find who was on the phone and who appeared to be a manager. As I stood there waiting to be acknowledged another employee came up. The manager told the employee to go check some locks on an aisle and make sure they were all secured and "see what he wants" motioning with her head to me. The employee looked at me but didn't say or ask anything. I followed him to the aisle he was going to which was also the aisle where the chainsaw was located. He never said anything to me and had just walked away. Arriving at the aisle II pointed to what I wanted and said " I'd like to get this please." The employee didn't acknowledge me and began checking locks to all of the cages on the entire aisle. After he was finished he came back and I repeated my request. It was crazy how he acted as though I wasn't even there at first. He couldn't figure out how to find what we wanted at first. He was unable to locate it but eventually he did. He then took the chainsaw and walked away without a word. What was going on we wondered. We were able to figure out he went up and gave it to the customer service desk. He never said a single word nor was he ever to be seen again after walking away with the chainsaw we wanted. Insane. We saw a chainsaw and told the cashier we wanted to purchase that item and pointed to it. The cashier brought it over and set it on the counter and ring it up. My wife then handed the cashier The paper from the door people and said we also wanted to purchase this. The cashier looked at the paper then looked at my wife and said "What's this?" I said the people in the door area told us they could scan that paper and it would allow us to purchase the door we wanted. The cashier showed the paper to the same manager from before and they talked a bit. Then as we waited I asked what was happening. The cashier said they needed approval from another manager because the door was on sale. Apparently we were not allowed to have the sale price as advertised on their website and is also printed out on the paper without manager approval. After waiting a bit I said to cancel the door. I didn't want to purchase it anymore. It was really ridiculous. The cashier said they're just waiting on manager approval. I told them I was not interested in waiting anymore for someone to approve me to make a purchase. After paying for the chainsaw the cashier turned around and walked away without so much as a thank you or a goodbye. My wife was with me so she realized how poor the service actually was and it wasn't me exaggerating. She agreed we would never shop there again and is finding another door.

It wasn't the cheapest, but they offer a good warranty and they seem to be a bit better made than some others. The only catch was that the one I wanted wasn't in yet and I'd have to wait for 2 weeks for it to arrive. The manager told me it would arrive around the 21st of March and that he'd call me as soon as it came in. On the 23rd of March, I went in on my own, since he hadn't called. Sure enough, it was there, it looked great and I told him that I wanted to buy it. He told me that he'd have to make a quick run over to my house to make sure they could physically access the site. My house is exactly 2.1 miles away. It has now been 10 days since I told him I wanted to buy it. I've called 4 times since then and he's always "just about to get out there to take a look." I'm really frustrated and am about to start looking for another shed! It's like he doesn't want to sell it.
