On the big day, our event director, Nate, was an absolute superstar. His calm presence instantly put us at ease. He is a true professional who kept everything running flawlessly. I loved that his staff quietly visited each table to dismiss guests for the buffet. This kept the atmosphere intimate and didn't interrupt the dinner music from our DJ (Windy City Sound). After being seated, we waited about 15 minutes without anyone acknowledging us or even bringing us water. During those 15 minutes, another party was seated at the table next to us. Almost immediately, a waitress came over with waters for them. She noticed that we didn't have any and told us, "I'll be right back with some waters for you." Instead, she returned without the waters and proceeded to take the neighboring table's order, even though we had been seated about 15 minutes before they arrived. At that point, it was clear we weren't being attended to, so we got up and left. We understand that restaurants can get busy, but simply being acknowledged and treated in the order we arrived would have made a big difference.
