Rolled up in a van I'm jealous of. He took my sheers and gave me replacements to borrow. He is reasonably priced and was on time. Word dude!

Best shear sharpener in town! Plus he sells shears too. Alex is awesome, hands down the only shear sharpener I recommend!

This is all I am going to say fellow Yelpers... This Cutlery Shop is BADASS…read more Customer Service was simply the best... had a extensive collection of vintage cutlery and kitchen paraphernalia. David even had a great sense of humor and also recommend some good local eateries which I tried and now recommend to others. If you need your knives sharpened or just need to buy another knife to add to your collection then Hawthorne Cutlery is your spot. So let it be written... So let it be Sharpened.

Third time I have tried to go here during their "hours of operation". Doesn't answer phone, doesn't…read morereturn messages, apparently never there. Very frustrating. Apparently the place is cool but has thus far wasted a combined hour of my time driving here trying to actually shop. I have money to spend, how do places like this survive? Don't bother calling to see if they're open, they're not, they don't answer if they are. Update: Received a call back. Immediately hung up on me with a very surly "forget it" before I could adjust my volume. Why the fuck would I give this asshole a penny? Rude to his customers, doesn't seem care about his shop, disrespectful of your time. Is this just a retired hobbyist who fucks around in his knife shop when he feels like it? What a joke. Also seen other reviews now saying this guy has made creepy comments on women's bodies. Glad I didn't end up coming here, would have brought a female friend.

I have been a shopper here for years and recently they have arbitrarily beginning to refuse entry…read moreto customers, at whatever time they deem "too late," a businesses stated hours are universally understood as the point when they stop letting customers in. If the hours say 8pm at a restaurant, they seat people until 8pm. If the store is open until 1am they are required, by law, to leave the main exit unlocked, until 1am. It's a health and safety risk, which is by far the bigger issue in this instance if there is a fire and the doors are locked, customers and employees could become trapped inside. The other problem is that a consistent store schedule is essentially a contract with their customers, so that the customers know that they can rely on the business. I have gone to QFC, at about 12:45am 1-4 times a week, for years. Knowing that I can get food there, at that time, and so planning things accordingly. Recently I have shown up at that time and been denied entry a few times, but other times they are letting people into the store at 12:59, as is right. It's an unwritten rule that if you go into the store just before they close, you make sure you get what you need and get to the register, but that is essentially a courtesy to the employees of the store, that the employees now feel that they are entitled to... in fact they might not even let you in if there is plenty of time to get quite a a whole bunch of groceries and still be out before closing, depending on how they are feeling that day.

I bought these flowers from Instacart from Qfc and they were like this when they arrived . Their selection is thoughtfully curated, great range of high-end, performance-driven knives all well made and balanced to fit your hand. What really sets this place apart is the customer experience: the staff are knowledgeable without being pushy, genuinely enthusiastic about what they carry, and happy to walk you through options based on your needs. I appreciated their patience and expertise in helping me choose the perfect knife. We choose the 3 pack first visit, two pack of steak knives the second visit, The magnetic block and three more knives the thiird visit to complete the set. The shop itself feels welcoming and clean even though it's a working shop. The displays that make browsing a pleasure. Steelport Knife delivers quality products and excellent service. I think they come with a lifetime warranty and several people in my party were bringing knives to be sharpened by them. Here is where they lost me. Unless you are a gourmet Guru I am not sure you need a chefs knife that is $500. That being said if you are -- and you DO need it then go here. It is local and service oriented.
