Shea however decided to roll up her sleeves and reward me with not only the perfect color heavy blonde highlights I prayed for, but also with a fresh hope proving God continues to place shiny new pennies amongst us, we just must remember to have faith and stop long enough to look around for the signs!

Feb 19 I booked using their online booking system, which requires half payment for services, I paid $40. The appointment was for March 21. On Feb 21 (one month before my scheduled appointment) I realized I had a time conflict and immediately called the salon- no one answered or returned my voicemail. So also on Feb 21st I attempted to use their online booking system to change my appointment date. The system would not change the appointment date unless I paid an additional $40. I'm not paying $80 (total price of haircut) in advance of service. When I tried to back out of the online booking system it just cancelled the original appointment. I received an email confirmation of appointment cancellation the same day. On Feb 26th I emailed The Natural Mane about this issue. Though I was already irritated I really wanted to support a local business. I explained the issue, said I would still like an appointment but if they couldn't help me then I would like a refund immediately. The only response I received was, "Sorry, for the hold up on the appointment, the one you booked and canceled, has been deleted from your account. As for your next appointment, you will need to go in and schedule it on line. This system works great, and I'm sorry you are having challenges." Why in the world would I give someone more money when they have already proved to be untrustworthy & have the worst customer service/communication? On Feb 28th I was forced to file a dispute with my bank. Today is March 28th and this business still has not responded to my bank. Obviously I do not recommend this salon for anything!

The first time I visited Jenny's was a long time ago, pre-pandemic. I don't remember who did my hair, but she wasn't very friendly and seemed to be under an immense amount of stress. Even after making an appointment, I remember sitting in the lobby for a long time waiting to be seen. My stylist was also double booked, even though I was only getting a haircut. I remember sitting in my chair waiting for her to come back. She had to get someone else to shampoo me.... Fast forward, I booked with someone who doesn't work there any more. I remember being on the phone with the "receptionist," she wasn't very friendly and didn't have good communication skills. When I arrived to the salon, there was no one sitting behind the desk to greet me. I sat in the lobby for at least 10 minutes with no greeting. I had to walk to the back to find my stylist. My stylist was amazing and did a great job with my hair. She is the only reason I'm not giving one star. The more recent visit, it was absolute chaos with people running around everywhere, no product to shampoo with, and dirty sinks. I remember one stylist -in-training being absolutely obnoxious and unprofessional, making inappropriate statements to my stylist while I was in the chair. I have followed my stylist to a new place so I haven't been back to Jenny's in a while. I hope things can change for their sake.

Unfortunately, I could not hear the woman's name. I went to the salon today and asked to speak with a manager, and actually met with the owner (Mr. Carmen- apologies if that is not the correct spelling). He listened to my tale and asked if I could wait 10 or 15 minutes and he would have one of his stylists fix the issue. That stylist ended up being a wonderful man named Jesse Z. He was able to diagnose my issue immediately and assured me that bobs are his specialty. He was not lying. He was able to make my hair look great. But Salon Alure did not just simply have someone fix the problem. When I was checking out...they not only did not charge me for today's fix (which I expected)...they gave me a gift certificate for my next visit as well. I certainly did not ask for that, nor was I expecting it. I must say I was pleasantly surprised and appreciative. I know everyone has a bad day now and then, Lord knows I have had my share. But my experience today with Salon Alure has renewed my faith and I look forward to my next appointment with Jesse. THANK YOU Carmen and staff for taking my concern seriously and going above and beyond to remedy it. I am most grateful. NCR

Instead of simply copying a picture, she talked through my hair, what would work best for it, and what I realistically wanted to do with it every day. After our consultation, we decided to go in a completely different direction and give me a pixie--and I LOVE IT. She gave me a soft, piecey, effortless cut that looks great without requiring me to fight with my hair every morning. I can wash it, let it dry, run my fingers through it, and go. Exactly what I wanted. What impressed me most was that Kelly wasn't just focused on giving me a beautiful haircut when I left the salon; she gave me a haircut that actually makes sense for me once I'm home. That is the difference between simply cutting hair and really understanding your client. Five stars for Kelly. I couldn't be happier with my pixie!

Stood by the desk, someone asked if I needed help, I said I had a 1:30 with Micheal, then was told to sit upfront and he'd come check with me. 20 minutes later, still sitting in the front when a walk-in came in, someone went to go ask Micheal and he said 20-30 minutes and he'd be with him. So I walked back to talk to him and he was deep into coloring someone else's hair, gloves on and everything. So I asked if I still had my appointment, he said "Oh yeah," then said he'd help me in a little. He came and grabbed me finally, then immediately started accosting me about how it's my fault I didn't walk over to him. I don't live here, I don't know who he is so how could I? He continued to accost me the whole cut, lecturing me how it's my fault I had to wait, he even said he saw me in there. 3-5 minutes into the cut he asked if I wanted product. I was so confused, he hadn't done anything I wanted so I asked "are you done?" He said yes, so I repeated what I wanted, then he told me no, he wasn't going to do that and then continued doing what I didn't want for 15 more seconds, then asked how I wanted to pay. I went to The Strand to Dottie Thornley for numerous haircuts prior to this experience. I enjoyed chatting with her, and I felt that she always did a nice job of cutting my hair. I have short, fine hair styled in a pixie cut. I wanted to try something new and asked about extensions. I admitted that I knew nothing about them, and asked her opinion if a pixie cut to a bob was possible. I showed her a picture, and she said - sure. No problem. I was charged $922.83. This included the hair, labor, hair cut and style, bottles of shampoo and conditioner, a used hair brush, gratuity and extra toner that she told me to apply to my roots of my hair for 10 minutes at home because my hair was "ashy." She applied the extensions to the sides and the back of my head, not to the top as I thought she would. I expressed immediate concerns about the result, and she told me the hair would lay flat and look better after washing it the next morning at home. I tried to keep an open mind, and did my usual wash and dry the following morning. It was a mullet. When I told her I was being called Garth/Joe Dirt by my friends (what can I say, they have a sense of humor), she said I could come in and she would take some length off before she left for vacation, which she did. It wasn't as mullet-like, but it still felt awful. My head looked like a doll's head of hair with clumps of hair poking out. The extensions became increasingly painful. I couldn't sleep because it hurt to put my head on a pillow with all the glue quills poking my head and the tension on my scalp. It felt like 120 overly tight, tiny pony tails on the back and sides of my head. I asked her about removing them when I went in for the mullet corrective cut, but she said she didn't recommend removing them. They hurt so badly that my husband and I cut each piece out. Now, I have 100+ tiny bald spots on my head. She offered to give me haircut credits on future haircuts to help me. She also said she doesn't offer refunds, and has mentioned something about signing receipts implies customer agreement to her no refund policy. She has also mentioned she keeps her costs low to help people. That is my hair extension experience from my perspective.
