DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON. Gene completely ruined my hair…read more I went in for a consultation first where we both agreed on what I wanted. I clearly explained that I wanted an electric blue colour and even showed him multiple reference photos. He told me he understood my vision and said he could achieve it. The next day I had my appointment. He started bleaching my hair at 3:08 PM and didn't wash the bleach out until 6:57 PM. After the first round of bleach he told me he had reached the colour needed for the blue I wanted, and I was very happy. However, he then told me he was planning to do a blue-black colour. I immediately told him that if it was going to be blue-black, I wanted it lighter instead. He reassured me that he could still achieve the lighter blue. After the second round of bleach, he applied a very vibrant purple dye. I was extremely confused, and even the friends I was on the phone with at the time were confused because purple was never part of the plan. When I asked him about it, he told me to "trust him," which I did because he is supposed to be a specialist. When we were waiting, I asked about the price and he said it would be $450, which already seemed very high to me. Then when we went to wash my hair, he immediately started brushing it while it was wet. My hair stayed a bright purple and I started to panic. When I touched it, it felt like elastic and was extremely damaged. I started crying and told him I did not want him touching my hair anymore because it was clearly ruined. Despite completely damaging my hair, he still demanded payment and would not let me leave until I paid something. He even blocked the way and blamed the damage on me, saying I caused it myself. I have been dyeing my hair since I was 13 years old and I have NEVER experienced damage like this from any stylist until now. I did NOT want purple hair, and I definitely did not want hair that feels like elastic and is completely destroyed. This experience was incredibly upsetting and unprofessional. I hope no one else has to go through what I did. If i could i would give this place a 0 star review

LOVEE THIS SALON! The best one for colour in Mississauga!…read more I came in with super brassy orange ends and Gene took my hair to this beautiful ashy grey blonde balayage. The last place I went to overcharged me and only dyed the top 3/4 of my hair (not close to the roots). Gene was the exact opposite: he took his time on each strand of hair (a perfectionist), was incredibly attentive, and told me what he was doing each step of the way. The salon is run by a couple (Gene and Mariam) and they are such funny, kind, and patient people. They made the salon experience so much more comfortable, especially given that the balayage process took ~5 hours. The pricing is also really reasonable, compared to other places I've been. Overall, I highly recommend this salon. I'm definitely going back!

Here's how I arrived there a year ago…read more I walked into Gossips, which is just up the street, I was told immediately "we don't do men's hair". This is unfortunately not gossip. I happen to be a male, with a full head of medium length hair. Not sure what the issue is. Waltzed my way to Cosimo's and the owner at the front was as pleasant and accommodating as you can get. I was seen by Elsa, and she was and continues to be lovely. When I say, "just a slight trim" thats exactly what she does. She now cuts my son and daughters hair. We've even done a day of pampering for both of them. She even let my daughter wash my sons hair. This is a great, great salon. Sure it doesnt have the fancy vibe of Bloor West, but I am fairly certain that vibe is factored into the price of other places. Highly recommend, and great for kids.

Especially since he is a skilled barber, and I know this isn't his best work. It felt very rushed, and what was even more insulting without even changing the guard on the clipper he tried to make me think the side was a .5 and the top was a 1, I'm not blind! at least not fully. Now I don't know if his slapdash work was on account of my choice to not wear a mask(they give me horrid headaches) but regardless of the reason for his shoddy work he has lost an almost life long customer. There has been many mistakes, let's say strikes at this point that I ignored and went back. This was strike 3!

Kept telling me what I wanted could not be achieved with one application. But he knew he had screwed up so all the excuses started to come up. Needless to say, I left the salon after having my hair bleached, and toned 3 different times and my hair was fried!!! I literally was in tears when I left. He had an assistant who was the one that apologized and he said nothing. Do not go there!!!!!!! Unless you want your hair to look like you have been practised on with a million colours. My hair went from my natural dark brown to being bleached to a gold/orange colour. After being toned, it brought down the gold to a lighter blonde, than toned again to a ash/grey, and toned again to my roots to a light brown and the bottom was grey, bluish, ash,blonde.... it was a hot mess!!!

Its also a gorgeous setting inside, clean and professional, convenient parking and location, etc. Joe is one of the nicest guys ever, you can't help but love him. My first time going there, I felt so welcomed by everyone, and his wife (the other owner) even came up and introduced herself and was such a sweetheart. TBH I find that at some the better salons that a lot of the people can be somewhat snobby in a sense, and can make you feel a little bit uncomfortable. But the people at teknik couldn't be any more sweet and friendly. Joe always knows exactly how to give me the hair I dream of, even when I can't pinpoint it myself or describe it fully. They are miracle workers there the price is fair and costs the same as any of the good salons in the area. I'm so grateful that someone I know referred me to teknik, as I had such a difficult time finding the right hairdresser for me since I moved to the area. Every time I went somewhere else prior to finding them, my hair always ended up being underwhelming and sub par. And they'd never be able to give me exactly what I wanted or asked for. But I couldn't be happier with the incredible results I get with Joe from teknik. He always listens intently to everything I want and I love that about him. You can tell he really cares, and has a passion for what he does. As well as being a kind and thoughtful person is such a bonus
