Luchi no longer owns the salon. Pretty much all of the girls like Luchi, Arelis, Bianca and etc all work at Serenity Salon at 1600 S. Broad Street. Serenity Salon is smaller, but the vibe is better and the prices are a whole lot better. When I'm in town, I'll always follow Arelis. It's just my take. But I noticed a lot of negative reviews lately and thought I'd update everyone to let them know this is a completely different salon with a new owner and service. If you want the same historical service from years prior, you'll have to go to serenity salon.

I dont know if this is new management or what but this shop is not the same at all. I went there to…read moreget my hair dyed, get my ends clipped and to get my hair curled. upon arrival I let them know that I am severely allergic to PPD that's in the dye the first thing that the receptionist said was "it's still going to be the same price" I told her I didn't care about the price I just wanted to ensure that I didn't have an allergic reaction she offered me their organic dye I looked at the back of the ingredients and told her no thank you because I can't ensure that I won't have an allergic reaction. she claimed that she let the stylist know however whatever the stylist mixed the dye up with I still ended up having an allergic reaction my forhead has bumps on it my scalp is on fire from burning there is red sores throughout my head. I tried to wash my hair and put aloe oil on my scalp however this has been going on every since Friday 10/18 and today is 10/23 and I'm still experiencing burning and itching throughout my scalp.I spoke to an individual on 10/22/24 and let him know what happened and he said that's horrible he would inform the owner Ruth of what happened and because I had a bad experience see that I get my Money back. Well 10/23 I receive a phone call where that same receptionist is telling me that there is nothing that they will do because she did her job and told me that they couldn't guarantee the product will work. this is a dye that I always use and never had a reaction to. She said that "if I dye my hair on the regular than I will know that I have to use a peroxide developer " however if someone come in saying that they have an allergy to something before you decide to take the product in the back and start mixing things you should review the ingredients with the client instead of just mixing something together just because it says organic. I am a very understanding person and understand accidents happen but Not one time did her or the owner apologize for what happen not one time did they express any concern other than being in defense mode. This is very disheartening to know that I am experiencing a bad allergic reaction and the salon people that mixed my safe product with the product of their choice is showing no type of sympathy or providing any type of solution is very upsetting. They was better off acknowledging what happened apologizing and offering a solution and I would of been happy with that. I will now take progressive action.

I drove 40 mins to meet her at her salon. She kept saying I have to go to my warehouse. She stated she needed $150 for a deposit (even though I was sitting In her salon waiting for her to go to her "warehouse". She definitely went to the beauty supply store (Had the infamous black bag used for purchases) and bought some cheap lace front wigs (2 and 2/613) and tried to sell them to me for $350. After I said no to both wigs she acted like she forgot I gave her $150. She told me I had to give her $20 for her gas!?!?! Wtf!!?! What kind of owner does that????

I never leave reviews (especially a bad one) but I'm so disappointed with the color and highlights…read moreI got on 4/28/26 that I really had to. I have been to this salon before and Kelly always did a good job but I travel for work and have been in and out of the area so I decided to book online with Natasha for partial highlight/dimensional color + tone, gloss, treat w/cut and style the price online was 250.00 and I had to pay 125.00 when I booked the appointment. I went into the salon and Natasha was very nice but she did an awful job on my color. My natural color is light brown but I have been doing blonde highlights especially around my face. I told her that I wanted my base color lighter and golden blonde highlights. I even showed her a photo because I was very definite about what I wanted. Well she did my base color dark, dark brown (darker then my actual real hair color) and blonde highlights around my face but they are so even I have a big clump of blonde on the right side of my band (she cut curtain bangs, which I had and like) that it looks ridiculous. I look like a skunk with this clump of blonde and then dark brown everywhere else. I wanted to be more golden blonde for summer and my hair is darker than it's ever been. When she showed me my before and after pictures, I didn't want to tell her but I liked the before much better then the after. The other thing was she told me that she would have to charge me extra because she had to use more color and when I got the bill she charged $110.00 extra and it's says for Root to End????? Isn't all color root to end???? Really disappointing! I ended up paying 360.00 plus a tip for her for dark brown hair with a clump of blonde in the front?! I hate it so much can't wait to go somewhere else and try to get it fixed. Natasha told me not to worry that next time I'd book "full highlights" and it would look better. When I told her that it was really dark she told me; "don't worry, it will lighten up when you wash it a few times." This isn't my 1st color and I'm quite sure that no matter how much I wash it, it will never be the blonde color I asked for. Unfortunately I will NEVER go back to there.
