Molly

We have been going to Shear and Shine for over 3 years-since we moved to Asheville. Annah is the most talented groomer I have ever met. She grooms my 15 year old Shorky, Molly with the upmost love and care. I also take Miss Jingles, my rag doll cat in for a groom about 4 times a year. She looks like she just stepped out of the cat fashion runway when Annah completes her groom. And our sweet Chloe has since passed ( the Havana brown cat ) but she too was groomed beautifully. I highly recommend Shear and Shine and would not take my beloved pets anywhere else. Annah and her staff are simply the best!

Wow. My 12-year-old Miami mutt has never had such a phenom grooming in her life! Her shiny black hair is glistening in the sun, her difficult-to-trim black toenails are shorter than they've ever been, and (sorry for the TMI in advance, but) her anal gland expression was apparently very successful, because she is no longer incessantly licking her bum! I'm visiting from out-of-state, so I'm not a frequent client, but for those who are seeking a GREAT groomer in the Asheville area: Look no further! Make your appointment with Shear & Shine! You and your doggo will be super-duper grateful!

My dog loves coming here and pulls me inside. But she also comes out beautiful! They do a perfect Scottie cut.

Best groomer in Asheville area! If you aren't near here these ladies are so sweet and good with your dog it is worth your drive!! There are certain jobs in this world you should only do unless you absolutely love it, grooming pets is one of these jobs; I feel these ladies genuinely love their job and clients because they were so kind, sweet, and welcoming. I've had such a time finding a groomer in Asheville, others are rough casing injuries to my most laid back dog and just simply don't like my younger dog thus being short and impatient with her. I consulted Brother Wolf on who they could recommend and they flat out said they had no one they could suggest. After being unable to put off grooming any longer I took the very apprehensive leap and booked with Shear and Shine. I am SO pleased to report they were so understanding and fantastic and concerned about my pets!! I could tell immediately my dogs were scared and hesitant at first knowing they were at a groomer and when I picked them up they were not anxious to leave and gloomy like others they felt good in this heat and felt good emotionally having had a nice experience. What little I of groomers with other dogs they were kind and gentle towards them as well. I feel confident suggesting Shear and Shine and sure I will bring my dogs back when they need a hair cut.

Very please to have found a groomer we can trust with our goldendoodle Teddy! This is by far the best cut he's gotten. They took care of our baby and gave him lots of treats. Excellent customer service too! Highly recommend!

This is the first place I've ever taking my dog to in Asheville and this will probably be the only place I'll take him. I have a sweet Morkie and he was very matted on the ears and tail and I told them I wanted a cute puppy cut. They delivered! I was very happy with the outcome. Only thing is if you take your pup there be ready to wait long hours (minimum 3 hrs). I didn't mind because his cut was so nice. Really friendly people.

RIP with love to Mikey..

3 years ago Ana took in my special needs dog at the last minute to bathe etc. Did a great job and even let my wobbly guy meet and greet roaming the shop. So grateful for all they did. Would highly recommend to anyone seeking a groomer for their beloved pets. So sorry this review didn't get here until now but better late than never.

Dog grooming!

I bring my two boys here to get their nails trimmed. I'm usually a walk-in! Honor, the owner greets them at the door and even though they are both afraid of the nail clipping, they go nuts over her. She's hard working, compassionate toward animals, and runs a top notch business.

Words can't describe how amazing this place is. My super old, super high maintenance doggo needed a new groomer and hair cut - badly. I called ahead of time and explained how nervous my pup gets. They were so kind. They let me bring her in and took their time not to stress her. Not only was the price affordable, they did an excellent job. I think my pup even liked them - which is rare for strangers. My dog was sick and old, but they treated her so special. I know my dog was really taken care of and there's no one else who would have trusted with her.

We're new to dog ownership and honestly I was a tad scared to do his nails myself. I booked an appointment for the week before Christmas. Probably should have thought through that better. We dropped our nervous Nelly off in a new environment with other dogs there, one of which would not stop barking while my husband and I were there. Half an hour later they all and say that he's just too nervous today to do anything but that they realllllly want to try again. The lady who called (my memory for names sucks, sorry) was really apologic but I knew my dogwas nervous and honestly, wasn't surprised. But I was suprised at how much she wanted a second chance so we scheduled another try on Jan 2 when she figured it'd be slower. I dropped him off and he did not want to go inside but we managed. When I went to pick him up they told me he was nervous for the first 15 or so minutes but then chilled out. I was shocked at how happy the dog I picked up was. There are many factors at play for his 180 change of heart, the spa was not hectic, it was chill and calm. The other dogs there that day were wonderfully behaved. The groomers had time to pamper him since it wasn't the crazy Christmas season. He had also started anti anxiety medication about a week before going. These all worked in my specific situation. I'm most impressed with how eager they were to see him again after that first try they really wanted him to have a fantastic time. I highly recommend any Asheville dog parents try out pawsitivity spa! Your dog will be treated like royalty.

But, need a couple professional cuts first. I brought poodle pics indicating the "style" i wanted. Not every poodle needs to look like he is competing at madison Square gardens. Picked up my boy about 2 hrs. Later and the cut was perfect. I have a relatively macho looking toy poodle who is not embarassed by any superfluous puffs or shaved spots. Ears are clean . Behind clean. Nails trimmed. I will return in the future

Said they wouldn't groom him again. "Unfortunately, this is the last time," she said. He'd wet himself repeatedly, and his legs were too weak, she said. I wept all the way home. And then when I looked at him closely I found two places that looked like he had been cut and had bled when I specifically had it put on his record that he was not to be shaved. Pekingese are only supposed to be scissor-cut. Then I got angry because I realized he'd been hurt and was scared, and that was the reason for the excessive urination and shaking. I blame myself for not reminding them, but it doesn't matter now. I know that no one has staff anymore, but this was handled so very poorly.
