I came to Olivia from having tape in extensions that ripped my hair out and damaged it further. Wether you are getting extensions to let your hair grow while you enjoy them in the process or just enjoy longer and thicker hair: make sure you are going to go to somebody who will keep your hair healthy and long like Olivia because they can unknowingly be so damaging. I have two rows of 22 inch hand tied extensions and they are so thick and beautiful! You'd think that would be heavy, two thick and long rows of hair - but I am never uncomfortable! They are so lightweight it's like they're hardly there. I have been seeing Olivia for my extensions and color since November of 2018 and I just bought my second set of hair in January 2020! My hair lasted me a year and 2-3 months!! That's incredible and nearly unheard of with hair extensions. And it's not like I am overly loving to them, I used heat on them, washed my hair every couple days.. everything normal. Worth every penny to me to be treated like a queen, keep my hair healthy and get quality and BEAUTIFUL hair! Olivia is the best in Alaska. But she deserves this rave review. Tiffany works at the same salon as my previous long time stylist, who recently finished nursing school and is no longer currently doing hair. You know a stylist is good when YOUR stylist goes to them for their hair, so I switched over to Tiffany at her recommendation. My hair has looked a lot of ways over the last 40 years of my life, and I'm no stranger to all manner of color applications. But today (my second appointment) Tiffany gave me the best looking hair of my life. Instagram hair. I am turning heads while wearing sweats at the airport hair (I'm literally at the airport right now). I'm a grungy Arctic wildlife biologist so I take quite a bit of effort to polish up. I did have to wait a few minutes for my appointment but in the end I know this is because Nee is very detailed and careful about ensuring an excellent cut and after all it was Saturday. Nee gave me a really excellent consultation and we discussed my wishes at length. We agreed to a game plan prior to my cut which was a fairly big departure from my existing haircut. Nee took her time and consulted with me about length along the way. In the end I got a really look changing haircut that was styled impeccably. It enhanced my existing color, and made me feel like a million bucks. I watched all the other stylists also working on their clients, and it seems like there's a really competent group in here. Sometimes it's hard to find a salon with really skilled practitioners, but I think this one looks excellent. I'm really happy with my haircut and I will definitely be going back to see Nee!

When I first entered the salon, there was no one at the front desk, so I stood there for a minute or so. There was a guy sitting on the couch who I assumed was also a waiting customer. He looked up and asked if I was waiting for anyone since he worked there. Dude, if you work there, why are you chilling on the couch with headphones in while there is no one else at the front of the salon? But I digress. The salon itself is chic and classic, like the kind you would expect to find in NYC or some other big city. However, I was actually there to get a massage, so I can't say anything about the hair services. I got a massage with Ellen, who started working in the salon recently. I found out about her through Groupon, where I got a great deal on the massage. She was very sweet and bubbly and made sure she was getting to the issues I wanted addressed. I felt a lot more relaxed physically and mentally after the massage. The major downside was the sound of a vent or something in the ceiling rattling. Not the most relaxing sound. The walls must also be pretty thin because I could hear conversations elsewhere in the salon, despite being in a private room. So this doesn't seem like the ideal venue for a massage therapist, but it could be workable with some changes.
